Question for naturals....

ITA with Bmoreflyygirl about shrinkage. I don't think you can honestly go natural for length... because 9 times out of 10 you will not see that length for a long time or unless you use heat.

My hair is 60% shrinkage. I pulled a piece of hair yesterday and it came to APL, when I let go it was at shoulder length.

Once when I was transitioning I went to get it pressed do you know my texture never came back? No matter how much conditioner I slathered on it stayed str8. So i had to cut that off and cut off the option of heat. I was traumatized. .

To the bolded: you know, I did a light flat iron just to see where I was at, and you know, some of my texture in the front did not come back as springy as the rest of my hair. I am pissed, so me and heat are not good friends right now. But it makes me wonder, if I will ever be able to str8en my hair without really damaging it.

You know I feel like it's a very fine line... especially for hair that is well textured we need more heat that a 2 or a 3 to get it str8

Also chicoro - she has WL but her ponytails shrink to SL.

Check out Misscocoface's signature. Her hair is BSL. I believe Lala's hair shrunk like that too but I'm not sure if she's still natural. I think she's texturized now.

My roommate's hair is probably about APL, maybe even BSL stretched but her twists only hang at her chin. My twists hang just as long as hers do and I've only been natural a year. She's been natural about 5.

I went from a 2-3 inch stretched fro in October 2005 to now bra strap. The pic in my avatar is a braidout. Without a braid out or pressing, my hair is about 60% of it's length. I plan to be at or near waist length by Summer 2008. HTH Q
