What Are You Going To Try Next?

Before my next relaxer on September 1st I'm going to try:

- Tresemme Perfectly Undone conditioner for co-washing

- Giovanni Tea Tree Triple Treat conditioner for co-washing

- Adding coconut cream to hair by itself and mixing it with the Giovanni Tea Tree conditioner

- Shampoo bar

I want to test all of these things out before my next relaxer so I can see how they respond to my relaxed and natural hair at the same time.

I've been curious about this too. But how do I know there's no soap in it? What ingredients should I look out for? @CodeRed

One of them I'm buying has goat's milk in it and all of the other ingredients are saponified oils (oils made into "soap"). I'm avoiding using any bars that have lye or other detergents in them basically... I really want a milk base because soy, goat and coconut milks have all done well on my hair in the past.

I'm going to try some from here soon:

I found that those seem to be a favorite of this forum after doing a search.

Thank you. I appreciate it!

I think I want to try some coconut butter also... That doesn't have to be refrigerated so if it has the same effects as coconut water and coconut cream, that might be a better option.

I am on my second install and i am loving it. The first install was a curly one. This one is a bob and straight. After the first install my hair was out for a week to do a protein treatmeant a color my grey since a round my hairline shows and was mostly grey. My hair has gotten sooooo thick in just the first install cant wait to see the difference in sencond take down.

DIY carrot mask; working in sections (the thought of doing this continues to be so daunting)

Overnight DC'ing about twice per month

DC'ing on dry hair with coconut oil and Theraneem Conditioner mix weekly.

I found that with deep conditioning overnight, I was left with an itchy scalp. This is not something I intend to do again.

The Theraneem conditioner is lovely, but the smell is overpowering. I was horrified when coworkers asked, "What's that smell?" I think I'll only use it on occasion.

Next wash day I will try reverse washing. Instead of using shampoo first I will do it the other way around. I will see if this helps with detangling.

I agree. This always seems to happen to me when I DC overnight.

How are you taking care of your hair underneath the weave? I'd love to see Reniece's or DSD'S weave method. How is your hair braided? Do you know the sewing pattern? Sorry for all of the questions, lol. I'm just so intrigued by their weave method!

Staying on top of my new scalp care practices to keep dry skin at bay
Njoy's Sulfur Oil
Trying a curly half wig so I can leave my edges out

Moroccanoil curl cream. My cousin uses it and her hair looks great!

Moroccanoil curl cream worked well for me. I did a twistout on wet hair and it came out okay, a bit stringy looking though. I tried it a second time on towel dried hair and I used bigger sections (about 2 inches) and my first day hair looked great. It normally takes 1 - 2 days for my twist out to look like I prefer (and to hang to my shoulders) but with this curl cream I got cute first day hair. I haven't tried to use it for a wash & go yet. I didn't use a lot (maybe a half dollar size) and only have the 2 oz sample. It does contain dimethicone so I would not recommend it for a daily styler. I'm washing it out this week before getting crochet braids reinstalled just to be on the safe side since I want my products to penetrate my hair while protective styling.

Kinky cashmere DC. She had a sale and the ingredients looked good. Not many reviews on this line but the ones I have seen have been positive.

@NaturallyATLPCH
I know that you picked up some items from the line. Have you tried them and what are your thoughts? Thanks!!

I love her DC and Refresher Spray. I picked up 3 of each of those bad babies for Black Friday. The DC is nice, glides on. I used it with heat.@AgeinATL .

I got the All In One condish to try.

For 2016, incorporating more aloe vera juice in my regimen.
I'm done with trying new lines. However, if my staple lines have products I haven't tried yet, I will definitely be trying those products. My staple lines for hair are (and will be in 2016):

Annabelle's Perfect Blends (leave ins, hair creams, oils)
Kinky Kashmere (refresher spray, DC)
Smooth Naturals (Hair Milk, Refresher Spray)
Soultanicals (Moisture Gurus)
Alikay Naturals (Leave In)

I have a ton of DCs and things from other vendors I will be using to use up the stash. Enough of this vendor hopping, those are the only people getting my money.

I'm gonna buy Ayurvedic powders and oils and add them to my regi
I want to straighten my hair again in February but I have a bunch of products that I didn't have last time, so we'll see how that goes.
