What are you going to do different in 2009 to your hair

I'm thinking about transitioning to natural but I flip flop so I need to make up my mind because I have a retouch scheduled for Nov. 24th.

no trims, i'm just going to dust my ends, it takes longer, but oh well.. I'm not buying any products online.. i'm going to use more natural products or make more natural products and save some money.

More crown & glory technique for me as well starting in January 2009 probably. I will either use twists or braids or alternate them.

ETA: I will get a trim also. I want a nice even cut just below APL for my hair to grow in thicker.

Being consistent with my hair regimen and learning to dust my own hair which I will start early. I wanna try henna also.....

im going to continue to deep condition 1-2 times a week. i will get rid of all my shampoos except the one moisturizing shampoo i will use once a month. i will use wen to shampoo. i will start rollersetting rather than flat ironing.

use one-line of products consistently
texturize in April and October with phyto
protective style most of the year
use sulfur mix 4x week
conditioning treatment with oil 3x week

Well, I am starting the year out with a 6 month stretch. I will be stretching to my b-day in May.

I am going to give Lanza a try, especially the straighting line.
I am going to experiment more with precision cuts; I found some really hot cuts in a magazine today.
I want to try more scalp massages with essential oils

* Protective style for at least 7 months.
* Treat it a better whilst PS'ing since I have a habit of neglecting my hair a little during this time.

I plan to go back to prepooing with an oil, either olive or coconut. Other than that I'll stick to what I know because it has worked well for me for so long.

I plan on following Victor Sabino's regime for a year:

Shampoo, condition, (leave a little of the conditioner in), seal with Moisture Block.

That's it. No extra leave-ins, prepoos or DCs(he says it's a croc and hair can only absorb so much).

I think simplicity is key for me. I've tried to many things and it got complicated. My hair was at its longest when I kept my hands out of it!:lachen:

I'm going to stay away from the scissors and not cut my hair at all from this point forward. I want to see how long my hair can really get.

me,too. well, i will trim, but no more than 3 or 4 times a year and a real trim. and a real trim, not a cut, so 1/2" or less each time.

Try to stay consistent

Practice rollersetting more

I fell off the wagon with haircare, and I'm just now getting back on track. So, with that in mind, I'm going to try to find a good regimen and try to stay consistent.

I'm going to;

- Continue stretching
- No trims, just dusting/search and destroy
- only flat itron every other week
- continue with my current regimen

I'm already obsessed about my hair so I will try to keep my regime simple
- Keep using the products that work for me
- Stay away from bandwagons (easier said than done!)
- No trims at all whatsoever
- Oil my ends and ponytail at night

I think my biggest challenge will be looking for more styling options. Right now its limited, but that's only because I really haven't found anything online that doesn't require a Chi or a million products to achieve.

I have made the decision to transition! This will be a very long and hard road that I will have to travel, but hopefully not entirely alone ladies. I miss my natural hair too much. I know it won't be easy but life is'nt either.:wallbash:

Get rid of my many useless (for me) products, I'll donate to my female cousins.

DC once a week and stop being lazy.

Master the bomb diggety rollerset.

Not wear extension braids. They always wind up thinning my hair.

Wear a scarf every night to bed.

dc more often
very low mani regimen
stay away from bandwagons especially if they promise growth
try to stay with what works for me but still try 1-2 products a month to try new things(not like 10 new products a month like i do now)

NO pre poos??? Wow. That saved my hair.... Good luck!

No DC's?? No Leave-ins? That's - really ballsy - are you relaxed or natural?

I'm very curious to see how this turns out - it would be cheaper, overall, that's for sure.

Not stress over the length of my hair. I am going to enjoy my hair and love it for what it is thick & healthy. I am just happy that my hair is long enough to wear it in a side puff everyday if I want to.

1) Not buy so many hair products. If there's a buy-no-hair-products-challenge 2009 I'm willing to join. I should take a picture of all of the products I have and label it Confessions of a Product Junkie.

2) Be more thankful for the hair I have and enjoy the journey to longer healthier hair.

3) Continue my current regimen. It's working so far.

4) If the MegaTek keeps working the way I think it is, I may not texturize my hair again.

Continue to DC on dry hair
Work on being consistent with vitamins
Make sure I DC once a week
Use up products before buying new ones (especially conditioners)
Start rollersetting

moisture like crazy, stop cutting, stick to my natural and eqyss products, baggy often, stop be lazy with my silk scarf...and i may do the C&G method until 2010

Hi Kiya!

Yeah I know! When Victor told me this I thought he was crazy!:perplexed He said deep conditioning treatments offered at salons are a waste of money because the hair only absorbs so much and that the water from washing is sufficient if sealed properly.I posted his emails to me(in the latest Sabino thread) about water being the only moisture we need(and anything else just mildly penetrates while the rest just sits there) and sealing it with MB in the latest Sabino thread. He did say that I could leave a little of my regular conditioner in for a little "feel good" as he calls it but the water is key. Sabino is suppose to lock the essential moisture in and any additional out until I shampoo again so there's no need for daily application of anything.

The member luckiestdestiny said this method is working for her she is reataining length and her hair is very moisturized. This could possibly be a set back for me if it doesn't work but I figured I'd try. I wouldn't really call this a bandwagon though, in fact it's the complete opposite.:lachen: I would definitely save money because he said get rid of all my products get a good shampoo, conditioner and Moisture Block. That's all I need.

I was relaxed but am transitioning to natural. I have thick course and dry 4b hair. I did not BC so I am dealing with two textures(3 inches of new growth). I have tried his method for a week and so far so good my hair does not feel dry and brittle and my scalp is moisturized from my natural sebum. I flat ironed it following his method on Saturday and have not added anything to my hair since.

I know that 4B is the most fragile hair having the least amount of cuticle layers than any other hair type(so I hear) so I figure I can't go wrong with giving myself an extra layer of protection with MB. I just keep thinking it shouldn't be this hard for black women to maintain healthy hair.
