Cause I think Im about to do that today. It's my first install ever that I'm taking out and I plan to have them take it out, wash it, then put it back in...

thoughts?

No, but I did that with braid extensions for years and stayed at sl, so I won't risk it now.

I do. I'm a self installer so I usually take down after a month, wash, protein dc then moisture dc with heat, blwdry then re-install. I use a net weave (allows me to do semi-thick, cornrows in the middle) with a two perimeter braids ( the net is only attached to the inner braid which minimizes tension and breakage on my edges).
I also make sure the braids in the middle are WELL moisturised with scurl and sealed with vatika or castor oil.

MAke sure they do a real good dc and the check the state of your hair b4 the put it back in.

I did that for 7 months straight. Every 4 weeks, Wednesday morning I used to take my hair down (I worked nights) and wash it, deep condition, and do a hot oil treatment (pre-LHCF), and go get a new full sew in before noon. My edges are still thick as you can see in my siggy and my hair grew. Bring all the products you like used in your hair to the shop with you and be persistent about doing what you need to do with your hair before your stylist installs your new sew-in.
My advice is that you dont make a habit out of same day installs because you can really care for your hair better when its out.

Im also a self installer and I have taken my hair down and reinstalled the next day <too lazy to do it all in one day> But I only leave an install in for 5 to 10 days. I take it down so I can wash it <I want to get my entire scalp when I wash>. I make sure to keep my braids moisturized with Bodifier Mist and that my braids and thread aren't tight. After 5 -10 days I usually have a thread or 2 that are loose anyway so I feel like I need to take it down anyway.
So far I haven't had any problems with doing this.

i've been wearin weaves back to back since Feb 08 and i do it, but it's a very long process for me...very long. too much hair. protein treatments, deep condish..da whole nine. but I haven't had any setbacks...and my edges are extremely thick, but this goes back to taking care of your hair underneath!

good luck with whatever you do. make sure your hair is in good condition.

You must have read my mind because I got a full head weave today and I plan on taking it out and putting it back in next week, its just too tight and I'm fearing for my edges. That's £65 down the drain but it's my own fault for not forcing the stylist to leave out my edges.

I do this, i have done for the past 18months or so.

I use a net and then try and deep condition, if i'm in a hurry i skip it and just seal as best i can. I am on a budget so im stretching my weaves:look: from 4-6 weeks to 8-10. My hair does get dry but its 4b so i dont think its unusual, my edges are good and my hair is growing.
& i self install. i have the 'homegirl hook up' she braids all the way back and i sew in a fufll head, no hair left out.

I've done it before. As long as you're not relaxing and then putting it right back in, it'll be alright. I'd be sure to do a DC though.
