I love to henna! But um... one time I tried to do it when I was 3 months post-relaxer and it was a disaster. :nono:

I still henna! I love it and do it faithfully every week when I leave my hair natural. The few times I straighten (since I want it to last) I do it every two weeks. I don't think it's something I'll EVER give up. I love the strength and the red tint it gives my hair. I'm a henna head 4 life, the benefits are SOOO worth it. I have a local Indian Store so its only like 2.50 for 200g BAQ and I stock up. If I had to order it online like some of you ladies (I've seen those prices :nono:)I'm sure I would use it more sparingly. Length retention is no longer a problem for me.
ETA: and I've been using it like this for almost a year. And I haven't noticed any loosening in my curls but maybe I'm just not paying attention but my curls are still beautiful 2 me!
Not me. It takes too much time and is too messy.
I mix a big batch at once (and keep a simple recipe, just henna, lemon juice and water) and then let it release for the 8 or so hours, use what I want and store the rest in the freezer. Take out a batch and let it thaw b4 I use it every week so no mixing or time required. And if you want a fresh batch every time, just plan ahead, mix it the night b4 you plan on using it instead of mixing it the day of then being impatient (like I am) and feeling like its taking forever.

I henna every 4 weeks. I'll never give it up! And yes, you can henna after relaxing. Just be sure to dc afterwards.

Yeah thats what im afraid of, and i didnt even do it yet:lachen:
I've notice mostly ppl with straight hair doing it, and if there hair is curly..they complain of some sort of loosening!:nono:

It loosened my curls some, but they sprung back by the next wash. I love henna, wish I'd known about it years ago.

I still henna (hendigo) every 6-8 weeks. Its a staple of mine for life. I usually do it right after I take out my braids or weaves, which ever protective still I have been doing. I just think it reinforces my hairs strength after being put up for so long.

Yes it can be an all day thing so I do plan ahead. I call it my spa day cause I do go all out.

I am 5 mos post right now so the loosening affect is welcomed though I dont see it much. I have been retaining lenght much better. I have been doing this for about a year now.

I am the only AA person in my office but after seeing my hair some of the other ladies want to make an apt. with me so I can do theirs! LOL

HENNA HEAD FOR LIFE

For Me it's a MUST. I do it about every 8 weeks or so.

I love the Naturalness of it, and it's lasting power. Nothing has colored my Grey and protected/strengthened my Hair like Henna/Indigo.

It's been far more superior, for My Hair than any Bottled Color i.e. semi, demi, permanent.:yep:

How many times have you hennaed? I know for me it took a good month and several co washes for mine to spring back some; but then again my hair isn't necessarily curly, but more wavy like.
