If you cant return them just sell BOTH of them on ebay... then get you the cheaper one or another flat iron with that money

Ok ladies I had the battle of my life today, but I got my money back.

Whew...I'm exhausted because I did this right after school but I'll come back with the full story soon.

Girl..stay away from the Kiosk! When they come running towards me I shut them down with one look. I've been burned so many times. My boyfriend brought one of those Jose Eber curling irons home. $130 curling iron and it was totally not worth it. He says a guy sold it to him..whatever..I know he got suckered by a girl (probably showing how straight and shiny it made HER long hair). Glad you got your money back! I should have sent him back!

I'm glad to hear you got your money back. Make sure to do your research beforehand next time. You don't want to waste money on an emotional decision. :nono:

Uh oh, did you have to get gangsta :210:

:lachen::lachen::lachen:I didn't get gangsta but I did have to get slightly ignant
(This is pretty long BTW........)

Ok so at school I printed out like 7-8 pages of prices online from Amazon and ebay, etc clearly showing the irons being priced between $50-$100 (but of course I left out the higher priced irons :sekret:)

So after school, I drive to the mall and show up at the kiosk and saw a different person manning the cart. I politely explained how I wanted to give an iron back that I had bought the day before that I never even took out of the box and of course he gives me the old "no refunds just exchanges" spiel so I hand him my receipt and politely ask him to show me, because perhaps I'm blind, where on the receipt it says that refunds are not allowed.

Him: It's right.......................(can't find it)
Anacaona::smirk: Where?

So we're going back and forth about company polities and whatnot for a couple of minutes and he's like "You know you're getting the best price on the market right?"

Anacaona: Really? Best price huh...
Him: Yeah, go look somewhere else and you'll see
Anacaona: Well I did and its not......
Then BAM I drop the stack of papers on him with the prices I printed out
Him: Duh, Duh, Duh :perplexed Well the last time I looked........
Anacaona: :smirk:

So I ask for his boss' number and he gives it to me on a sticky note, calls him IN FRONT OF ME, then tells me that he's in an important "meeting." I pull out my phone, call his manager to call him out on his BS. (Why does he keep answering his phone if he was in an important meeting?)

So after his boss tells me he won't give a refund, the guy starts to bargain:
-I'll throw in another flat iron.........ummm no
-I'll match the price on the printouts.......ummm no
-I'll give you an 80% refund (Um....I thought you said you wouldn't do refunds)
-Can I do your hair while you're waiting?..........He** no!

I keep telling him that I just want my full refund and he tells me that his "boss" told him that he doesn't care, he's not giving a refund, I can call the police, I can call the mall manager, yada, yada, yada and we keep going back and forth. So obviously wearing him down, he asks me to come back in 20 minutes so he can "work something out for me." Fine........so I walk away and find the mall manager's office who happens to be in a meeting too:rolleyes: and file a complaint against the kiosk.

I walk back, and we go back and forth some more and he asks me to come back in a few. I sit down on a bench RIGHT NEXT TO HIS CART and start redialing his boss' number over and over and over (and of course he knows not to pickup bc it's me).

The boss gets tired of me calling and calls the guy to give me my refund.
:dance7::bouncy::dance7:

While I'm happy I got my refund, It ain't over til I see it on my credit card bill.

Ladies, please take my young and dumb mistake and never do what I did.
-Don't buy from a shady kiosk
-If it's too good to be true, it's probably not
-Do your research BEFORE hand and know what you want/need
-Find out the store's return/exchange policies
-Bring in some hard evidence when you have to plead a hard case.

(I'm sorry that this was so long)
............Off to find a Joico Vaporiron!

LOL Just a compulsive shopper. I always do some type of research before I purchase an expensive product. I've learned my lesson. So take this as a lesson learned.

I have no idea what got into me and I'm lucky (and they are too) I didn't have to go buckwild on them to get my money back...This was definetly a lesson learned.

My next flat iron will probably be purchased online after TONS of research.

What p*ssed me off EVEN more was a special "oil" they tried to sell to me for $50 that was originally.......wait for it..................$70!!!! (and of course on eBay it was like $18)

LOL! Well I'm glad it worked out for you. You're a lot more persistent than I am!

When I pass by those kiosks I don't even slow my stroll. I just smile curtly, avert my eyes, shake my head, and KIM.

Good for you, Anacona!!!!

I'm glad that you got a refund & definitely take this as a lesson learned!!! DO YOUR RESEARCH BEFOREHAND!!!
