Hello Ladies Im planning on getting a sewn in weave for my birthday just to add a new look and as a protective style with my crown and edges still out it might end up as just a few tracks. I have a few questions though:

1. What should I do before and after te installation (Protein treatments etc)?
2. What should I do to maintain the style?
3. Can I still do deep conditioners?
4. Whats the longest it can be left in
Anything else that I for got to ask but is important please let me know

Thanks.

I had a sew in once. I only left it in three weeks. I don't have any advice for you except the person who did the sew in told me to also bring regular braiding hair. You know, like what you corn row with. So she braided the corn rows in my hair with weave before the sew in because she said it protects your real hair. Did I explain that ok?

I sewed in my own full weave once and loved it. Just be careful of the kind of hair you get. You want to buy very good hair that will still look good after washing. I washed in a hand held shower to make sure I got a good wash and cleaned well.

I only wore it for 2 weeks but found that it was too much trouble (doing it myself) to keep doing it. Too busy and I didn't want to go to the salon.

1. What should I do before and after te installation (Protein treatments etc)? I usually DC. If you're relaxed you can do a mild protein treatment.
2. What should I do to maintain the style? Make sure you cover it at night. Treat the weave hair just like you would treat your own.
3. Can I still do deep conditioners? Yes.
4. Whats the longest it can be left in? 12 weeks. Most people don't leave it in that long. Since it's your first time I'd say 8 weeks.
