I started using this last Dec, I'm on my 3rd jar now (I use it daily). I get it from my BSS. Its always been light yellow but it is a thick consitency--thick enough to tame the NG at my edges and make my ends air dry straight. And that's why I buy it.
I am going to have to get my next jar someplace else and compare. If I can find it in a creamier consistency then I'll be able to use it all over my hair as well.

I totally agree with the poster. The BSS here always has old mango butter and relaxers. I watched a relaxer kit sit on the bottom shelf away from other relaxers for about a year with a layers of dust on the box. I knew it was the same one cause they only had that single one by itself and it never moved. I feel bad for whomever bought that one.

Wow. This whole time I thought that it was supposed to be hard and yellow. I always wondered what other people were raving about...

Same here!:perplexed:perplexed:perplexed:perplexed I feel like I've been hoodwinked.:lachen:I'm definitely going to try and find some that's not expired. Too many people have raved about it.

Wow... y'all really brought back a throwback thread with this one!!!:yep:

Lemme go check mines... I was a first time purchaser and only used it twice since then (3 weeks ago) because I'm trying to get thru this NTM Silk Touch. I think the consistency is the same as the ORS Olive Oil.

****Goes to check the date and consistency****

YaY!!!! Mines is fine! it's creamy and a very faintly colored yellow tint to it. And it IS the same consistency as the ORS Olive Oil...

Now, what I SO DON'T GET is the Elasta QP Glaze. That stuff is NOT for me, or I'm doing it wrong...:nono:

So I'm not going mad. I think these BSS owner are doing this everywhere. I went to a BSS here in Aussie, and all their products smelt rancid!!! I thought it was just me.... I think they just buy old stock from the US and bring it here, coz most black folk here wouldn't check that. Arrrrgh.

Glad this thread got dug up. Fortunately for me, I have never had a bad jar. I love it, and use it every single day! I even have the sample jar that I keep in my purse. I never want to be without it.

Now I know what a bad batch would look like. Thanks.

yeah I'm sitting here next to mine and I said hmmm, let me check but its fine....I did go to the beauty supply store last night to get a relaxer for my daugther but the boxes just didnt look right so I told her we will just have to keep looking LOL

Interesting that I came across this post. I do not shop at the regular Beauty Supply stores. I do not like them... They are "set up" just for black people and they are over-priced. I only go to Sally's. So I believe it.

I don't know about you but I always open any product before I buy it to make sure its not dry and crusty.. I don't even pick up the jar if the top has dust on it.. I don't care what evils I get from staff... Thanks for sharing though!

It's not just the BSS that you have to watch out for. A few weeks ago, the Duane Reade in my neighborhood had a bunch of dusty hair products in the front with 50% off stickers on them.

You also might want to keep an eye on the ingredients because ElastaQP was recently purchased by another company who plans on making changes to the line.
