Use Up Your Stash 2012 - Session 1

 Herbal Essences Long Term Relationship Leave-In Split End Protector (5)(staple)......DOWN TO 4

I feel bad cause when i use up any bottles i feel like my stash looks empty and i want to buy more. its a real real bad habbit that im working on. i like buying stuff i really want then i sometimes dont even open the dam bottle!

lamaria211, poor poor baby LOL. Dont worry I will be buying from your stash to help you use it up.
I have stuff that I havent opened then I start thinking about expo dates and stuff. But I am kinda not really into my hair like I use to. I guess its because of school, so I dont really buy anymore.

I updated the list with items I have used up, sold (DM DCC - refuses to absorb into my strands) or given away (ayurvedic stuff). The first and last time I used henna I got a lot of breakage and I can never seem to get Amla powder out of my hair for at least a week. I may revisit them later in the year or next year, but for now I am done with ayurveda.

This is me.......

I'm preparing a gift bag to give to a women's shelter. The bag will contain Tresemme Deep Cleansing shampoo, Organix Theraneem shampoo and conditioner, African Pride olive miracle anti-breakage cream, and Kids Organic 2-n-1 Detangler, and Afroveda Emu and Jojoba shine control oil along with a few other items.

Hey ladies, how is your stashes going? I am in the process of reading The Science of Blk Hair book and I like it. I need to start by getting back on my hair game, maybe this will help me use some of this stuff up. Plus I realized it has me reading labels again and I seen that I got some stuff that doesnt have so good ingrediants and I think I want to return them to CVS. I am going to call them and see if I can trade it in for something else w/o the receipt.

I just feel not enough things in my stash are moving they are on their last limbs but darn seems like they want to stick around as they get low LOL!

We will see I am going to sell my 2 Wen Ginger pumpkins and I did buy 1 Wen Pomegrante, will post Ginger pumpkin on EBAY and I have placed it on here. I need those out of my stash as they are to darn thick for me!

I'm still going hard, working my way through bottles of various product. I've really gone into full-on KISS mode so my progress has slowed.

I'm not using up anything either except for conditioners. I find that once I nailed my regimen my hair seemed to get into a groove. Before I was using 4 or 5 products to do my hair on wash day and another 2 or 3 during the week. Now I use two products on wash day and maybe 1 or 2 during the week. And I use much less of all of those products.

I also wonder if my using more conditioner has resulted in my using less of other products.

I am almost done with my bask cacao bark dc after one-two more pre-poo uses. I cannot wait to reuse that container to make more shea butter whipped cream. I will revise my main product list once it's complete.

I would love to join this challenge. I hope to use up my Shampoos & Stylers. Am committing to posting each product in these 2 categories that I use up. My goal in joining this challenge is to fine tune my regimen and to stopy buying products on an experimental basis and to stick with my HG products :yep:.

Shampoos
Nexxus Therrape
Kerastase Clarifying
Silk Elements Neutralizing
BioSilk

Stylers
Wave Nouvea Gel for Edges
Kercare Actisilk
Keracare Shapes
Ecostyler Gel

This is me. All I have left is those three co-wash conditioners. But I had my hair braided up in a protective style for two weeks and couldn't use them. I rarely co-wash anymore since I moved back home and we don't have a shower. Ugh. Plus, they're too cheap (Suave) to give away lol.

ETA: I just ordered some extra dark JBCO and EVCO to replace my current oil. I'll be giving it away. It's not a bad oil or anything but EVCO is a staple and I want JBCO for growth.

Been away from the forum for a while, but got scared back by the email.

Finally finished up a gigantic tub of Queen Helene Cholesterol. I was co washing with it everyday I was trying to use it up so bad.

Working on a co wash conditioner and a styling product now. Both will probably be done by the end of the month.

Oils and moisturizers are the hardest things to get rid of :/ ok i finished KBB luscious mask ,its so runny it lasted 2 washes. I m on the Strinillah deep con now ,i really like it although i m not ae fan of the orangey scent. Works very well. Afroveda Bare is unbelievably good for baby nappy rashes ,dont get me wrong i like it for my hair but its not as great as when its used as a baby bottom cream 

I was thinking the same thing right before I opened this thread. I have large bottles of wheat germ oil and flax seed oil. I have used them both over the past 4 months and I haven't even begun to put a dent in them.

I have to figure some way to use them up. Maybe in the spring, instead of doing a mid week cowash, I will mix AVG and one of the oils as a prepoo and then just rinse it out. :perplexed:

I don't like either of them well enough to really use them often. And I still have this super huge thing of coconut oil. I'm so glad i told my mom to buy only 1.

I have sold, given away, and used up a few things. I decided I don't want to have manageable hair, I want great hair. My staple stylers and leave-ins give me great hair so if a new product does not give me great hair I am selling/swapping/giving it away. The upside of being a minor PJ is now knowing what ingredients and consistencies work best for me.

Re oils and moisturizers taking for ever to finish: yes! I use, and have used for the past 4 months, hair creams and butters as my main body cream/butter. I can not use them up any other way. I use a light oil on my ends ~4x a week and it took me 2 months to use 8 oz of Argan oil. I have almost 40 oz of meadowfoam seed oil I predict I will be using for a while. I am glad it has a 3 yr shelf life. I use coconut/olive oil to cook as well so those get used up.

Just used up the last of my Garnier Fructis Fortifying Deep Conditioner and now I remember why it took me so long to use up this small container. I think I was mixing it with other things last time I was trying to empty it because this stuff does nothing for my hair.

Ogoma, What oils do you have that you are willing to sell? I am on my last oil and need to re-up soon.

I am finding that it sends me into a panic to think that I may run out of conditioner  Everything else I can fake it through but not a conditioner. So I have a 10% off coupon for Vitamin Shoppe so I will buy a few bottles of the AO GPB and White Camellia.

Not using anything up quickly but moving consistenly through my SM Hair Milk. I will not repurchase this. I will repurchase the SM SMoothie now that I know how to dilute it with oils. That will also help me get rid of the oils I have. But I will wait for a sale.

I think I will start using my shea butter blend on my body. Not really caring for it in my hair.

I don't see myself using anything up until the end of March or April.

It's funny how my regimen really revolves around 1 product - conditioner. Everything else I can do without.

Oil rinses and oil pre-poo can help to reduce your oil stash.
