I am only 7 weeks post, and I am so bored with my little funky bun. Its not like I could have been rocking another style with all the rain.

I plan to give myself a protien treatment this weekend with a deep condioning. last week I washed and conditoned using salerm, and I tried miss key 10 en 1. It felt like I was putting tar in my hair. I had the hardest time combing thru...so I gave it away. I love salerm but it does not have real detangling agents (if that makes sense)

I plan on keeping it going. trying to stay a step ahead. what about the rest of you.

Stretch club member checkin in!
I had a wonderful CO wash experience last night. I've been wearin a braided bun all week, and last night I DCed with a conditioner cocktail of Redken So Long, DDTA, ApHOGEE Balancing Moisturizer, Aceite 3, and Paul Mitchell's The Detangler (THE BEST STUFF EVER!!!). My hair was soft, shiny, and tangle free.

So I am SUPER excited about pushin on through the stretch. I think I'll do a roller set next week since I can actually detangle with ease...I need some variety anyway. :)
I realized last night that my hair has grown a lot...probably b/c I haven't been watching it. I'm happy b/c I'll be able to reach my goal and still spare a 1/2 inch or so for a good trim.
Now if I could just decide on a color of cellophane

Checking in too! :)

Last week were experiencing rainy humid weather and needless to say my hair was experiencing it too so I decided to braid it. After thinking about it, braids are so "easy" and I might just stretch to next year.... But I dont want to speak too soon:look: .

Checking in.
I'm still in my braids, I'm trying to keep these bad boys in for 8 weeks... we'll see. It'll be week four of me having my braids this coming up Wednesday.

Hi there ladies, Checking in too! Im 14 weeks post relaxer, and let me say, I am getting just a lil bit tired of these buns and combing out this new growth. But im holding out, I'm getting my hair braided this weekend, so that should help for at least another 2 weeks.

Good luck ladies.

i'm still stretching, lol. Let's see, i'm only almost 7 weeks post, so it's really not bad. I'm pleased with the amount of NG that I have right now. I washed last night and used ORS mayo and surprisingly my hair came out pretty well with it. Feels stronger, less shedding, because I put some on my scalp. I just used my Rusk Smoother and some olive and almond oil on my hair, put them in two bantu knots that i slept in and went to school like that today lol

I'm actually thinking of relaxing a bit earlier though, maybe at 14 weeks. Not because I might not be able to handle it but because I'll probably have two events coming up before my relaxer and it would be a waste to use heat on my hair before that, since i'm trying to stay away from that anyway. Oh well, we'll see. I might just do a braidout for both of them, and even stretch to 17 weeks, lol.

So, Divine, that detangler is AMAZING, you say? you know i'm on the lookout for a great leave-in/detangler, right? :look:

I am not in the challenge but I might as well be because I am stretching my relaxerr until christmas. I am presently around 9 weeks post relaxer. I took my cornrows out last night and did a condition plus protein treatment. The braids were in for a month. I will rebraid in about a week.

I'll be 13 weeks post relaxer on Monday and I'm loving it. I literally just washed my hair (like 20 mins ago) and I really like the texture of my new growth. The front is so wavy and the back and sides have spiral type curls. The way my hair is feeling right now I may just transition.
For my most recent wash I used Motions products. I shampooed w/Motions CPR, then used Motions CPR treatment condition for like 10 mins, then applied Motions Moisture Plus Conditioner for an hr and did about 10 bantu knots/pin curls on my wet hair. My hair was so easy to comb through, it felt so soft. We'll see what happens in the months to come.

Holla, you ladies are really motivating me. I am tired of my bun but I think it will be worth it in the end. I am happy to hear all the good news. :) I am really stoked. I am under the dryer as I type I am doing the emergencee treatment with out the shower cap to see if I get better results. I want to stay a step ahead so that my stretch will be easier, and I will experience no breakage.

I have to tell you though the last two times I washed I was not a happy camper. lets see what happens tonight. OKay where are the rest of my girls at. I know it was a whole lot more of us.

Checkin in!

The challenge is becomming more challenging but I like a challenge! I am about 10 weeks post relaxer and its starting to show. But for the first time I am actually happy to see my new growth!

At first I could get away with my pony tail or twist but with all the new growth (NG) sprouting in that is going the way of summer.
I actually found a new style by accident. I was trying to do a twist out but I put the twists in and realized I had to go out!
I ended up pinning my big twists up into a pony/bun. It actually looked nice!
When I took the twist out, I got like 5 compliments at work the next day!
Even my boss came to me and complimented me----the day after!

Just wait till December!!!!!

Girl it TOTALLY changed my detangling situation...I meam, I'm bout to ready to write Paul Mitchell. You have no idea what kind of struggles I was dealin with...I'm super happy...especially since I can finish the stretch with relative ease. I thought I was gonna have to give up for a second :look:

WhipEffectz!!! Welcome mama! :)

I am 16 week post relaxer and would like to stetch to 25 weeks. Yesterday after showering I pull the back of my hair down and it was 1-0 inches away from the top of my towel. It seem that by the year end my hair will be armpit length  . The last picture that I took of my hair was on august 25th, at that time my hair was 3 inches form armpit length. You can see my pics on the link below. So in a space of 8 weeks my hair grew 2 inches. Well my hair was dry when I mesured it in August so I would subtract 0.5 inches. Therefore I can safely say my hair has grown 1.5 inches in 7 weeks which means my hair grows at arate of 0.75-0.8 inches per month with mtg. Before it wold have been less than 0.5 inches.

i'm not officially on this challenge but who cares...

WOW  and I thought I was doin somethin by stretchin 21 weeks...you are the MEGA stretcher :notworthy

I didn't join when this was started but I am almost 8 weeks post and my personal goal was to get to New Year's Eve before trying to relax again or, at least make it to 16 weeks which is right before Christmas. So, COUNT ME IN! ;) :p

I've got about 1.25 new growth in the back and crown. 1 inch in front and sides. I've been steadily rocking Flexi-rodded waves/loose curls and applying MTG throughout the week at night and putting ElastaQP Mango butter on my ends right before setting with my flexi-rods at bedtime.

I DC'ed yesterday before I went out with LeKair Cholesterol mixed with my olive oil and aloe oil and then used the NTM leave in. My hair basically took the dc like it was a ponk and wanted to act still thirsty! When I combed the leave in through, I saw then, as my relaxed hair FLOATED above a very nice, uniform AFRO of new growth, that I would need to wear a bun. lol. Last night, when I got home, my hair was demanding more attention....so, I put jojoba, olive and amla oils in as a pre-poo treatment, baggied up my bun and went to bed. We'll see today if my hair is still talking smit or not. If this is how the stretch thing is going to be....I may be in serious pain before Thanksgiving! :(

I also give jadedcynicism a :notworthy

I'm now only between 6-7wks and so have nothing really to report back as I normally stretch to 20wks. I'm also on the baggie challenge and wearing it in an updo (thanks to Serenitybreeze for the pretty updo technique) & also using MTG. I went to my stylist for a deep condition & rollerset on Fri and I can't keep my hands out of my hair!! I thought I will treat myself & wear my hair out this weekend as I have not worn my hair out since 18 Sept. I look forward to checking in next month with more growth.

i'm wearing a sew-in. its the ONLY way i could have made it this far. i'm going for the full 1 year stretch.

I've noticed that the more I stretch the easier it is for me. Before LHCF I never would have been able to stretch past 5 weeks. Now October 30 will mark 8 weeks. I'm not sure if I will be able to wait until Christmas but I am challenging myself to stay away from the salon as long as possible that way the stylist won't be able to try to convince me that I need a perm. I guess I am going for a thanksgiving break stretch rather than a christmas stretch. I am actually devising and following a regimine for the first time since joining so we will se how that goes.

Well, I'm kicked out of the Christmas club! sadly I went 10 weeks post relaxer . I was trying to make it until Christmas! but I failed. but I will survive and I'll get me one of those ticker's and go 4 months until the next relaxer that's Feb 17. I have a Willie Morrow no-lye perm My hair is so straight it's ridiculous with no scalp damage. WoW and the texture is real soft not fried. I would have not believed you could achieve this with a no lye but we will see in a few weeks usually I have major breakage with no-lye's but we'll see. Hair dresser's are hard headed they do not want to listen. You try to tell them how you want your hair treated and they won't do what you say that's why I like to do my hair myself. Except for my perms. In any case peace to all you ladies keep growin' Once I re-charge my Camera I'm going get my fotki album up and running.

I got a touch up last Friday at a Dominican Salon (my first time ever trying a Dominican Stylist). I was 17 weeks post relaxer, I think I may stick to doing 12-16 weeks. I will go longer if I make the decision to transition to natural completely. Technically I am out of the Christmas Stretch club, but I guess I can still be in it since I will not be getting another touch up until January. :)

Hi Ladies! Another stretch member checking in!

I am currently 9 weeks post relaxer and its going pretty well. My growth has been steady and I will start using MTG again for the months on Nov and Dec until my relaxer. I can't wait until I can see the progress in growth. :o) I have been wearing my hair mainly in ponytails and french rolls. Nothin much else I can do that dosen't require heat.
