I am in search of a good heavy protein conditioner. I love Dudley's DRC, but I am looking for something a bit more cost efficient. I am curious to see if any has used or is currently using this product?

If so, any mixes ? Comments?

Hey!

It's definitely not as strong as DRC. You could probably use Duo Tex more regularly, it's quite mild. I have it and I really don't use it--nothing works quite like DRC for me.

I use it, just used it yesterday actually. My hair hates heavy protein, but this product really works well for me...and it lasts forever and a day.

I use this. I turned on to it by Supergirl. It really is a great affordable conditioner. I use it as my mid-protein step in the relaxer process. I pour mine into a spray bottle for easier application.

I like it and you can't beat the price with a bat!

I've never used DRC, but I am thinking this isn't as strong as DRC. It is however, definitely beneficial to the hair. A stylist told me that for a more intense treatment with Duo Tex, you can put it on and then sit under the dryer with no cap so that the hair dries like it does with the Aphogee treatment. Then rinse well and follow with a substantially moisturizing condish.

great idea.

I use it mixed w/ some cheapie conditioner or cholestrol as my pre-poo. I like it! :yep: Just wish it were thicker in consistency.

I use it (thanks to Gymfreak)...I'm protein sensitive and it's the only protein I can use. I do the exact same things down to the spray bottle. I've been using it for 6 months and I still have 3/4 of the bottle left. The bottle is huge.

Crazy how one can trust hairdressers without hesitation...
When my old stylist used this, she put Duo Tex on the roots and a moisturizing conditioner on the hair (the Optimum care DC). She didn't follow with a DC that I can tell you. I remember that my hair felt good and I bought DT to replicate the results. But I also must say that I didn't pay attention to my hair around that time either....

I recall using this years ago. It was a very good Protein treatment. Not too harsh. I am glad it worked for you.
