what is the secret to getting and silky non- fuzzy twist out!! i love them but mine are always so dry and fuzzy!!

I can only get a decent one if I sit under the dryer. Almost all my air dried styles are fuzzy...even if they dont look that way at first, when I go outside they frizz. The heat seems to seal the cuticle and keep it from puffing out for the most part.

what products are u using to do them? And are u doing them on wet, damp, or dry hair? Individual or flat twists?

I am doing flat twist straight back, i usually use some leave in diluted setting lotion and some type of moisturizer

ITA w/ Leslie. Twist outs ALWAYS turn out better it you sit under the dryer. Also using a curling creme like Miss Jessies Curly Pudding or something of the like will help tame the hair and keep everything in order. I hope this helps!

I twist my hair while it is dry and already stretched out. I use a mixture of IC Fantasia Gel and curl wax for hold and less frizzies. I leave the twists in for atleast 24 hours. Also I find that the smaller the twists the better it looks when I take them down.

I switch my products around a bit sometimes gel, sometimes not.

here's a batch from a combo of flat twists in the front and singles in the back done on wet hair. i wasn't really feelin them so i put them in an elastic ponytail holder and wore them like that for 3 days . i'm still wearing it today - day 3.

i did these with ecostyler brown gel on top of v05 conditioner (i use as a leave-in). i also used a denman brush to brush the conditioner and gel before twisting.

i want to clarify something cause after i re-read my post it didn't sound right :drunk:. i wore the twists for 3 days and this is day 3 of the twist out hehe.

I have a variety of products that I rotate. I usually start by spraying my hair with S curl and Carefree Curl Gold. I then apply either Noodle Head Curling Creme or Garnier Soft Curl Creme.

When I use the Noodle Head I just apply it throughout my hair and twist. If I use Garnier Soft Curl Creme I apply a little to each section that I'm twisting. The Garnier Soft Curl Creme is heavy and builds up fast so I don't use it a lot.

After I've twisted my hair I seal it with either Castor Oil or Coconut oil. I baggy a couple of days out of the week. If it's still a little too moist in the morning I use a diffuser.

I use to have to twist my hair every night but now I'm able to twist it a couple of times a week.

For me (a natural) my twistouts turn out the best from twists that are old. I make sure to conditioner wash my hair a few days before. I also start with an oil based product (like shea, coconut oil) to start the twists. when I do a twistout I take them out, and spritz them with leave in. What you see is what's in my avatar. Keep in mind that I guess i have slightly naturally curly hair in many areas and when you're a natural you can make your hair do many things .
