Trouble differentiating lye from no lye relaxers in shops!!!!

Ok i know this might sound silly but.....

HOW IN THE WORLD DO YOU KNOW A RELAXER IS LYE!!!!!!!!

Are they the ones that do not need to be mixed?

PLease help a sister out....lol.

Another reason i am confused is someone mentioned you cant buy them off the shelf??? Is this true?

Usually no-lye is in a box and lye is not, its in a container. And the front will specify if it is lye or no-lye.
