A few months back there was a thread about using lye and no lye relaxers. Currently I have a no lye relaxer and am due for a touch up in a few weeks. I am thinking of going to lye this time but would like to know the proper way to make the change or if it would be to damaging to change. Is anyone out there remember this thread would you please bump it up for me. Thanks ladies.

Hi Ladydee, I just switched from no lye to lye yesterday and my hair is loving it. I will bump the thread for you. I hope everything goes well for you. I waited 11 wks before I did the switch.

Thanks brickhouse, at present I am 12 weeks post relaxer. I was hoping to get a retouch in a week or two. How did you apply the lye relaxer? did you only apply it to the new growth or did you apply it all over? Please let me know. Thanks a bunch.
