Top 3 Most Damaging Things?????

Most damaging
not knowing how to properly use protein
relaxing too often
using heat on relaxed hair

Most healthy
more time between relaxers
new and improved knowledge about hair care in general
deep conditioning twice a week (once with silk proteins)

Most damaging:

1. "Playing" in my hair--causes split ends and thin, see-through ends.
2. Sleeping on loose hair---matting and breakage.
3. Not enough deep conditioning ---dry hair that leads to breakage.

Most Healthy:

1. Setting and forgetting---style the hair and let it be until next wash. I only touch my hair to oil the ends. Voila, growth retention and no more split ends.
2. Twisting hair and covering with a satin bonnet before bed.
3. Deep conditioning with every wash.

Love this! :yep:

Most Damaging
Not covering hair at bedtime while sleeping on a cotton pillowcase
Allowing ends to rub against clothing and shoulders
Using products that dried out my hair, ie spritz, shampoo with SLS (undiluted), wrap foam with SD Alcohol, etc.

Most Healthy

Eliminating all direct heat
Putting oil on previously relaxed ends during touchup
DCing and moisturizing/protecting ends

Hello Ladies,
Since finding this site last year, I've gone thru some major changes, additions and eliminations with my hair care regimine. So my question is what are the top 3 most damaging things you used to do to your hair that you don't do anymore since finding this site you can also add the top 3 most healthy things that you do now if you like. Here are mine:

Most Damaging
Sleeping on a cotton pillow case with nothing on my head.
Leaving relaxers on for too long, sometimes even using SUPER!
Going too long between washings and treatments b/c of laziness.

Most Healthy
Rollersetting
Weekly Deep Conditioning
Switching to MILD relaxer

My most damaging:
-not deep conditioning
-not protecting my ends
-being too "rough" with my hair because I always thought it was so strong

My most healthy:
-wearing protective styles
-moisturizing and properly conditioning/deep conditioning
-using less heat

Most Damaging
Was very rough with my hair
Relaxed every 6 weeks
Blow drying and flat ironing with oil

Most Beneficial
I treat my hair like silk
No heat at all
Ayurveda products

3 most damaging things:
1. Playing with my hair--mainly pulling at it. I do it mainly when I'm nervous or stressed out which is a lot. Don't know how to fix that. I'm doing it right now, argh :wallbash:
2. not protecting my ends.
3. not DC's on a regular basis.

Best thing ever:
1. co washing daily--my hair loves it.
2. wrapping my hair ever night, though I've yet to do it at my bf's house
3. moisture, daily
