Relentless
Reinventing
Does anyone have any testimonies from paying their tithes? I sort of struggle in this area.

He has given me incredible favor in my business, He has given Joshua incredible favor in his job (He's probably the lowest in seniority and definately the youngest yet HE is the one who trains all the brand new drivers. His helper's always buy him soda and food, he always gets tips from people on his route and so much more!)
God even preserved us through a very hard finanacial time. It was a total act of faith. We knew we couldn't afford our bills but we tithed anyway. I have documentation (i.e. my bank account!) to prove this financial miracle. There was a time when we had almost $4,000 in monthly bills and $2800 in income. I had just lost my previous business. But we kept on tithing CHEERFULLY expecting God to work a miracle. He preserved us for a 4 month period of time. We never had want for food. Everytime we'd visit Joshua's parents, I believe God would lay it on their heart to give us food! We always to this day leave there with bags and bags of groceries.
When we had our car repossed, God gave us another car. When it was time to return that car, God gave us the funds to purchase another car. Then He laid it on the hearts of the people who loaned us the first car to just let us have it.
I have not had to buy clothes for the girls in months! Everytime we get ready to buy them new stuff, someone always gives us bags of like new clothes and shoes for them. When God laid it upon my heart to get rid of my skin tight jeans and pants and wear modest apparel, He provided. I have a closet full of dresses, skirts, tops, and dress suits that I did not have to pay for. I have yet to buy a new skirt. Matter of fact, I was planning on purchasing a new skirt this week and God gave me another one.
I truly believe if we had not stepped out in faith and tithed none of this would've come to pass. So I'm going to be bold and say just pay your tithes and offerings CHEERFULLY. It's not your's it's God's. If you're spending it, you're robbing Him. Period It trips me out so much how people won't blink to pay a phone company, gas company, electric company etc. We don't question those corporations. Paying them to keep our lights on is just not an option. So how is it that rendering unto God, our Provider, the One who keeps our hearts beating everyday, the one who keeps us from being raped, murdered, robbed, the One who keeps our children from being shot up in school, the One who keeps us from getting killed on the highway, the One who died on a cross for us who hated him, what is His?
Ok, that's my sermonette for the day!

I try my best to tithe consistently but sometimes when the bank account is low I pay a bill that I fell is important at the moment and then make up the difference the the next time I get paid. It's like I'm say to God "I know I owe you for that $20 from that last paycheck." I have been convicted about this and I have made it up in my heart that my tithe comes first. QUESTION: My church even has a way to automatically deduct the tithe percentage from your paycheck. I have been wanting to do this but I am not sure. What it be better to show discipline by making the effort of giving that 10% yourself instead of having the church do it for you. What are some thoughts on this?

RelaxerRehab said:Brownsugbabe, I would just encourage you to START tithing in FAITH. Just start giving God the 10 percent (or more, according to your faith) off the top. The first check/money order is written out to my church and I pay bills on whatever's left. Sometimes the amounts don't add up in that I look up and something I thought was due was paid, or the amount I thought the bill was was less. I know there's a difference between faith and foolishness. Foolishness is when I take care of my WANTS FIRST instead of my needs. I am learning to be a wise steward and avoid instant gratification. I don't get it right everyday but I do know that whatever might be due, that first money out the check goes to God. I am convinced that our Lord will meet you where you are.
