Same here. I think my knots are from starting to detangle too far from the ends - not combing starting from the very bottom and working my way up. I'm getting better about this...camellia said:First, you have GORGEOUS hair! I love it!
I get those single strand knots also. Probably from not detangling properly. I get lazy and it takes forever.
LadyEsquire said:this happened to me on a regular basis for the passed three relaxer stretching. recently i realized that my underprocessed sections are a big culprit. not combing for an extended period of time is also another reason.
i have been rollersetting a lot the passed few months, and would do so with a wide tooth comb only, thereby not catchng those tiny knots. i realized that i must use a rat tail comb when rollersetting, the rat tails detangle thru those tiny knots. 'cause if i fail to use a rat tail and simply use a wide tooth comb, those tiny knots will turn into larger more difficult knots.
hope that helps a little bit. ciao!
by the way, when i look at your hair, i sigh and daydream...lol...

was your hair detangled well?

Lavendar said:Lonei, your hair seems to be very fine like mine. My hair just wraps around itself when it's loose and wet. I have to gently comb out my hair with a fine-tooth comb after detangling with a large one. I use a mason-pearson comb that has no seams. That helps to get the shed hair out and cut down on the knots and tangles, but my hair still tends to wrap around itself. It takes a while but I usually just pinpoint the knot and pull away all the loose hairs that are hanging on. Then I grab the bottom of the hair where the knot is and slide the knot upward along the hair shaft between my thumb and forefinger. This usually loosens the knot so that I can gently untangle it. Sometimes it helps to put Gio Direct Leave-in between my fingers before I do this. I managed to untangle two tiny knots like this today without having to break them out of my hair like I usually do.Hope this helps. You hair is lovely!
