They Keep Under-Processing My Hair!

And it is driving me crazy! I have all these patches of hair that are kinky. It's like straight hair, then kinky, then straight again! I just got a touch-up this past weekend and the woman is like it is not under processed. Hello, then how come I feel all this kink in the back STILL? I wasn't burning so why couldn't she just leave the relaxer on a little bit longer so that it could do the job I was paying to have done?!?!

I was trying to figure out why all of the sudden every time I washed my hair I was getting tangles instantly. It is because I have all these different textures on my friggin' head!

I am sooooooo pissed! Do you know how much work it is going to take now to make my hair look decent? Do you know how long it is going to take for my hair to grow out so that this under-precessed portions can be cut? I am all kinds of irritated!

Is anyone else going through this? How do you handle having strands of hair with kinks in the middle with straight hair on either end of the kinky section?

I did this to myself about a year ago. I underestimated my new growth and didn't come down the shaft far enough with the relaxer. So now toward the end of my length I have a section of natural hair. I'm transitioning now, so it really doesn't matter. But I treat it the same as the rest of my hair. I can only see the difference on wash day and when I'm rollersetting.

OMG!! That happens to me pretty much all the time, i have NEVER had a relaxer done on my hair that made it all straight, at this point i am thinking about using extra strenght relaxer instead of the regular kind.....coz leaving the relaxer in a little longer does not seem to work for me either.

Yep, i did this to myself with ORS relaxer.:nono::blush:..............

But i'm a novice! What is your hairdressers excuse?

I just gel it all back into a ponytail & bun it with braid extension hair. Or if i'm feeling "brave", i'll flat iron it so it's all the same texture.

That happened to me the first time I relaxed my hair my self. .. . I was mad it didnt take and did a corrective relaxer like a week later (bad me). . . It was a no lye accidently (I bouught the same relaxer but in a box). . . .It was pretty for about a month. . . then I had dryness and breakege. . . it was a mess. . . I relaxed again I had splits. So I trimed it. but it just wasnt the same. . .

But gurl just wait it out the the next relaxer and lightly tough up the underprocessed parts after you relax your head right befor yu rinse i guess

It's either the relaxer and/or your stylist and/or product buildup on your hair ... sorry this happened.

Did you clarify your hair a few days before you relaxed? Has this happened with the same stylist? The same relaxer?

The first under processing happened back in September: http://www.longhaircareforum.com/showpost.php?p=5658051&postcount=1.

Crazy thing is, it looked totally fine until about a month ago. After the above incident, when I washed my hair, it didn't appear under-processed at all. I was like, "I was worried for nothing."

I got another touch-up in January with a different woman (my usual beautician, more or less). No problem. She gets the new growth straight so I'm cool.

Then all of a sudden, every time I wash my hair it is a nightmare. I was feeling my hair one day and I'm like, "Why does it feel so frizzy in this one spot???" I knew it couldn't be heat damage because I rarely if ever use heat. The under-processing from frickin' September is just now showing up! Is that even possible?!?!

Then I go for my touch-up end of March and now my regular person under-processed me in the back while swearing up and down it is straight. "Um, lady, I know what new growth feels like, I know what straight hair feels like, this ish is neither!"

The main reason why I am so ticked is because I don't do heat on the regular. Plus, I've started working out. The only thing I wanted to be concerned with was my new growth once it starts growing in after a relaxer. Not the entire length of my frickin' hair. UGGHHH!:wallbash:

I clarified a couple of weeks before my touch-up this time.

I asked my regular person, did you use a different relaxer? She goes no, she doesn't switch up her relaxers. She is a lying liar who lies! She used Design Essential back in January. She used some CB something or other on Saturday.

WHY IS IT SO HARD TO FIND A DECENT BEAUTICIAN?!?!??!!?

I don't know what the chick back in September used. I think it was Affirm Mild. I hate to switch to Regular because it burns me but Mild doesn't seem to be doing the trick.

Ugh, I'm done whining now. It's just hair ...

Girl you got too much hair for them to be messing over you like that. I'm sure if you go the vendor review forum you can find someone to do a better job.

Next time, make sure your new growth is fully visible. I had my hair flat-ironed at the roots to help me strech while i was on vacation, and I waited to get my relaxer until AFTER I washed it again and the new growth was apparent.

I did that to avoid repeating my current situation. My hair is texlaxed about 1.5 inches and this is about 1 inch above my ends. So my hair is relaxed, texlaxed and then relaxed at the ends. Evidently, someone didn't leave it on long enough. I'm trying my best NOT to repeat that scenario.
