"Thermalaxing" Heat Training Hair.....

I've unintentionally heat trained my own hair because I'm a very frequent flat ironer but I honestly didn't know that some people did this intentionally to loosen the hair's curl! I take it that "thermalaxing" is safer than using perms because it's chemical free. I actually think it's a cool idea for those who would otherwise use chemicals for looser hair. I flat iron almost every week and my hair is much, much healthier than when I relaxed it (relaxer at through my hair basically) and it is certainly heat trained in the front at least, so much that my curls stretch out at the slightest provocation ( they did this even before I ever used heat on it as a kid! ) and it's extremely frustrating for me.

Anyway, I stumbled across this on YT tonight, it's kind of intriguing and I wondered if any ladies who otherwise would relax have tried this....

That's Brittany and she's an active member here, so maybe she can come in and answer your questions if you tag her to this thread.

yes a lot of ladies here heat train their hair. it is a better alternative as well. just make sure you stay current with your deep conditioning treatments and you handle your hair with care.

Brittanynic, do you have issues with straight ends when your hair is curly?? I cannot keep the bottom 4 inches or so of my hair curly :(... does that mean it's time to cut??
