The one thing I need at this point is a proper DC for my natural hair..

and I'm having such a hard time finding the best one.

Can I please get some suggestions for efficient DC's for natural hair? Preferably something that I can go and buy in a STORE as opposed to waiting weeks for it to come in the mail? :look:

I don't know about being the "best one" since everyone's taste is different, but I like AO GPB (protein) and AO HSR (moisture) which can be used both as a regular conditioner and DC and can be found at the Vitamin Shoppe, Wegman's...at least.

NTM Deep Recovery Mask ..It's a small Jar but it does the trick!

Umm I know some use Lustrasilk Shea butter or Aloe Cholestrol mixed with all sorts of goodies as DC's

ORS Olive oil replenishing pak ...(Personally my hair dislikes this, however Urs may like it)

Aussie 3 Min Mircale Deep Treatment..

Mayo mixed with Olive oil, EVCO and honey :look: (when hard times come this is what I use)

If your hair is a fan of Garnier products ..the Triple Nutrition Deep mask something or another is good

Silk Elements has a good DC (can't remember the name)

Aubrey Organics Honeysuckle Rose condish can be used as a DC (correct me if i'm wrong ladies!)

all things u can go to wally world, target, sallys, healthfoods or a pharamcy and get

Pantene Relaxed & Natural Breakage Defense Mask (can still be found at some BSS's depending on your area)

Silicon Mix (BSS)

I think Truth's list hit it on the nose. It really depends on your price range.

Lustrasilk and Kenra MC are both on my fave list, both can be purchased at a store....but one is $1 and the other is $28. Let us know what you're looking for.

Sexy Hair Mask's
Nexxus Humectress Hydrating Treatment Deep Conditioner
Elasta Qp Dpr-11 I also add more oils and honey
Aussie 3 min (duh lol)

Silk Elements Megasilk Moisturizing treatment
Keracare Humecto (people say this is for relaxed heads, but my transitioning hair LOVES it)
Miss Keys 10 en 1

I had great results with Silk Elements Olive Oil treatment (i'm usually not a fan of Olive oil) I did a 24hr/overnight treatment and my dry, dry ends thanked me over and over.

Last night, I used AOHSR (aubrey organics honeysuckle rose) conditioner on dry hair. I plan to leave this on at least 12hrs...So far, I'm on my 13th hour lol

Don't see why it has to be about hard times - this sounds like good stuff.
I need to try it with veganaise.

I like this and the Pantene Time Renewal Replenishing Mask. I have jars of these in my bathroom.

I like this. I have jars of this in my bedroom.

Aussie 3 Min Miracle

ORS Replenishing Pak

... at first I didn't think the ORS was doing all that much for my hair. I stopped using it and then I came back to it over the week .... I didn't realize how much my hair needed this product! It's my staple now.

I'm curious about this as well. I have to take allergy pills in the summer and they dry out my skin and hair.

I like lekair. You can pick it up at walmart for 1.89. I use half a bottle and sit under the dryer for about 20 minutes similar to BlackMasterPiece.

I too second AO HSR.

I also make my own: Cheap conditioner (Suave), mixed with oils, melted butters, honey, molasses, yogurt (if I need light protein).

I mix the following:
Motions CPR Repair Conditioner
Motions Creme Conditioner (or whatever their regular conditioner is)
Argan Oil (or Oil of your choice)

Let set for 30 or so minutes (longer if you like), and then rinse out with cold --doesn't have to be ICE cold--water.

I do this every other week. I haven't suffered from that "dried out" look in the 7 months I've been doing this.

I only add a little leave in and oil 1-2 times a week...more out of habit than necessity.
