HELP: Natural 4A/Flatiron

Hi Ladies... I need help. I've been reading posts regarding the best flatirons for straightening natural hair. But I'm still confused. Someone has offered to buy me a Chi, or the best flatiron that I can find.

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE give me your suggestion of which is best? Preferably one I can buy out of the store today. I was looking at CHI's and FHI's.

What would you prefer?

I don't think BRAND matters....Its more about proper techniques to get the hair straight in one pass, and then using the right temperatures to prevent heat damage....Natural type 4's don't need high heat levels ******I learned that the hard way.....heat damage

I heard CHI's come in one temperature but if there is one out there with a temperature control, make sure its the size you need....I have heard mixed reviews from CHI users and FHI users honestly.....

I've heard great things about the chi, sedu, fhi, and maxiglide. I would do searches on these 4 and see what people's reviews of them are. For example while people rave about the maxiglide I know those little combs would destroy my hair so that was out for me. You know your hair best so go through and see what's said about each one and decide which would work best on your hair
Oh and ftr I went with a sedu but I've seen people have good results with all 4

I kinda agree brand DOESN'T always matter but I will tell u don't get a hotnsilky.
Many ladies on here love Hana Elite but I don't think u can get that in stores and I didn't feel comfy spending that amount so I downgraded and got the Hana Professional from missiko.com. If you want something u can get from just any store I'd tell u to go for fhi. If you haven't already check out flat iron on natural hair or flat iron reviews from people with hair like yours on youtube. Last but not least get a banging heat protectant most people use chi infared and don't forget to comb chase it will get it straighter with fewer passes hth

Also a good ionic blowdryer would be good to consider as well.

I had a maxiglide and while it got the job done I liked a traditional flat iron better. The maxiglide was a little bulky and I didn't like the plate with the pins. I felt like it was breaking my hair off. I bought a GVP iron from Sally's and I really like it. My next purchase will be a CHI. That's why my stylists use at the salon. I've heard good things about the Solia, Sedu and FHI irons.
