The breakdown of a PJ: It's all GONE!!!

I couldn't take it anymore! All the products, all the clutter, stuff I bought in bulk because I made myself think it was a deal, but when you don't use it, what kind of deal is it? Stuff that is years old. Stuff that simply did not work that I kept. Liter sizes of 50 million things that I could never use up (yes, even the Elucence which I haven't used in MONTHS). Clutter under the sink, clutter on the sink, clutter in the shower, clutter in my closet, clutter on my dresser....bottles of this, jars of that, WHAT WAS I THINKING!!!!!!

I just grabbed trash bags and started dumping. I didn't think about what was new, what was still good, what kinda worked, what somebody might want to take off my hands...I just grabbed it all and dumped it without second thought. 4 heavy trash bags when I was done. It was just too much to sort through and figure out what was good for swap, sell, or to give away. If I didn't toss it now, I know I would hold onto it. So here it is...the fruits of my PJ syndrome. This doesn't even count the loads of stuff that I left behind at my parents house when I moved a year ago, lol.

Funny thing is...

it feels GREAT!!!!

Maybe next time, but this time it had to go NOW....

Plus a lot of stuff was opened or partly used, I really don't feel comfortable donating that kind of stuff when it comes to products for sanitation and expiration reasons.

I do sooo much service on a regular basis, I don't feel bad about missing the boat on this one :)

(that is all that is important.)

You go on girl. You did what you felt you needed to do. Like you said, if you would have held on that stuff you prob would stll have it. Do what best for you.

Anky....You are too funny!!! Made me laugh this morning.

I feel you congrats. I hold on to stuff too its because I change my hair so often braids, weaves, roller sets and the like so I need certain stuff on hand. But, I am going to do something similar but happily I have a Mom, Sis, and two brothers who will use anything on their hair (Especially my brothers :) ) These two will use spritz, oil sheen, mousse, grease and anthing else. They will try anything, why would short hair boys be using spritz? Beats me well I know they'll put it too use. I am also a skin, bath, and scent product junky my mom loves Bath and Body works. I have dumped loads of perfume on them as well.

 That is A LOT of stuff! I now realize that I never knew the true meaning of PJism when everyone talks about it here on the board. Wow.

Congrats on letting so many things go. It must feel nice to finally KNOW for sure what products are your staples. :yep: I know that's how I feel when I find my staples.

Girl, you didn't miss the boat. I've done this PJ Purge two times. Charities and such don't want partially used products anyway. You done good girlie.

Way to go girl!

I bet it felt good.

Each time I bag up some goodies and take them to one of my nieces, it feels good. :)

I hear you girl.

But I threw away some things that I knew I would NEVER use. I still have a bunch of crap, but at least I know it is stuff that will get some use.

I know you feel good to have gotten rid of all of the stuff. I can't wait to get to that point.

Right. They'll only throw it out. They'll accept it in your face and then toss it due to liability issues. If you've somehow tampered with the product they will be held legally responsible for it injuring (or worse) someone.

My brother worked at Goodwill when he was in high school and although they would accept the items, they would toss it once they went through it.

Don't let anyone make you feel bad. I need to do the same.

Congrats!

If you haven't put them out for the garbage man yet, you should take the unopened prods and donate them...

Dayum @ those trash bags!! :lachen:

Trust me, I've fantasized about doing the same thing, but I'm so darn cheap, that I can't see myself throwing away any of my stuff...

Nope, they are gone. No time to sift and sort through it all or leave the bags sitting around the house until I got around to it.

Thanks girlie, I don't feel bad, lol. I'll just put in an extra hour of service in or something. I do for others ALL the time, I had to do it THIS way for ME and order to get it done. If that sounds selfish....sorry :(
