I think the closest you can get to homemade is like someone else said, go to the gym and sit in the steam room. I can't think of anything else that would work at home. besides maybe sitting in a bathroom with the shower on hot

but I don't think that will work as well.

Thanks for the info & links

Well, that just might work in the shower with the shower curtains drawn, not standing under the water but sitting on the side away from the stream...

at least it might be a temporary fix while I think about buying a steamer.

I don't know anything about it, but I have a friend who has beautiful waist length hair- don't think it's relaxed, and I just found out she steams her hair! I'll have to get some tips from her!

Be sure the pass those tips along....if you don't mind it.

Could you not use a face steamer that you have fastened a plastic bag around? I think I will try this with my homemade ojon conditioner. Do it at least once every 2 weeks....Bonjour

let me know how you do this and give me a run down of the results!!!

I have not tried this yet. I think I will sew a water proof cloth with elastic on both ends" one for the head and one to fit over the face steamer and give that a try. Like when....I get to it. lol. but this winter...I think. I had such a hectic schedule this summer, I forgot about it. Bonjour

I want a steamer now. Anyone know of a good brand or a crapy brand? Will a cheap one due or should I get an expensive one.

I've heard that Aphrodite is fairly good, they sell them at my BSS for around $30!

This thread is an education. I've never heard of steaming the hair before.

I don't think I can finagle a hair steamer out of my Caruso ... and I'm not spending any more cash on hair appliances.

So, guess I'll have to cozy up to my clothes steamer. I'm gonna put a big plastic bag over that baby and sit under it. It gets really hot, so it should work.
