Received a steam treatment on last Friday

I just so enjoy the steam conditioning treatments! My hair is left so soft and silky afterwards.

My stylist used the Mizani Kerafuse, and then placed me under the steamer for approximately 20-30 minutes.

I'm very interested in steam treatments after reading Diane DaCosta's recommendations in her book "Textured Tresses"...Do you think the same results can be acheived at home via a damp towel under a warm hood dryer or is this a salon specific treatment?
