Has anyone heard of this? My friend used to get her hair done at an Egyptian Salon and they blow dried her hair using steam :perplexed. She has very fine, sandy hair and it's always dry. However, once she started going to this salon, her hair felt moisturized all the time. I tried calling them to ask what blow dryer they were using, but they wouldn't help. They wanted me to make an appointment  ! So I am asking all of you, if you have ever heard or seen anything like this. My friend says you can see the steam as they are blow drying the hair.

Thanks

I have gone to Egytions Salons my hair was super straight nice bounce but my ends were had a different story. Y*hia & Os*ms put conditioner in your hair use some kind of hair steamer. They use roller brush technique for blowdrying. I have not been since I discovered this board and Avlon Industries in April.

yeap, when I lived in Chicago I visited an Egyptian salon, they would use the steamer for deep conditioning, then blowdry with a rounded brush. Boy did they get my hair super straight by just blowdrying, but of course the ends broke off bad & I never retained any length. HTH

Oops!!! I failed to mention you can see the steam coming from the blow dryer because it is so dam hot. All naps will be sraight they also use Aveda brilliant Anti-humectant pomade it gives great shine.
Yehia downtown or Hyde Park is pretty good about answering questions over the phone. Black hairstylists in Chicago have rumored for years Egytians reset the blow dryers to hottest temp.

Thanks, ladies! I guess this is one pursuit I shouldn't even continue. Now that I think about it, my friend's hair may have benefited not from the blow drying but from the conditioning. Her hair is really fine and dry. She may not have been getting enough moisture period. She stopped going to Mina's (?) and her hair is still in excellent shape. I don't have that problem, because I am proactive about the moisture. Thanks for putting me in the know !
