That feeling when I BC'd !!!

Euhm so I keep hearing BC'ers saying : ''I feel so free!''. Where does that feeling free come from? Can you describe it? Did your ex hair made you feel locked up?

each person goes natural for different reasons ...
- I am going natural because it is the hair God gave me .. it is the hair I was born with . I will no longer conform and try to blend into the European way of life by straightening my kinks and curls. I will no longer hide my hair's natural personality. Too many times have I been told long straight hair is what makes someone beautiful. Well i was not born with long straight hair . I was born with curly drawn up hair and it is equally as beautiful and I will embrace it ... SNIP SNIP SNIP .. I FEEL FREEE...

When I BC it gave the feeling of being free from hair that was not fixable. I was close to APL but my hair was thin and overprocessed. I tried everything to make it better but I was so disappointed with it. When I chopped I didn't have to worry about relaxing, blowdrying, or flat ironing. I could just co-wash and go. That was where the freedom came from. All of the drama about getting caught in the rain and going swimming was gone. As my hair grew longer that's where the frustration set in. My natural hair was wonderful to me, but I was at a lose on how to style it everyday! I just couldn't get past the in between stage. HTH

My BC made me feel free because I no longer had to deal with the two textures. I feel like I do not have to have straight hair like the models on tv or in magazines to feel attractive or beautiful. I am more happy with myself now than I was before because I feel like I am truly myself and do not need to change myself for anyone.
