How do you apply a texturizer and maintain curls? The directions don't work for me.

What do the directions say? Just leave it on a short period of time for starters is my guess...

OK after doing a lot of reading I think it the combing that screws everything up for me. I think it's a texlax I want.
I have Silk Elements Lye Texturizer in Coarse and Silk Elements MegaSilk Regular Relxer...which should I use?
Should I add oilive oil, coconut oil or both?
How long should the processing time be for color treated hair? It won't take me long to apply b/c my hair is short.
Those who texlax what do you do afterwards as far as conditioning?
