Ok, I saw the thread yesterday about the indianstoreproducts.com (sp?). So, it got me wanting to revisit the Vatika Oil.

As usual, I did a little research to see if everyone was still having good results. As far as LHCF, it's been a go. But, I took a look at the reviews on makeupalley.com and an indian girl had a "fit" about the t butyl hydroquinone ingredient. She claims that it is an ingredient that lightens/bleach and is carcinogenic.

I saw a thread here on lhcf.com where a couple of people mentioned their hair lightened when they used the Vatika Oil. Could it be because of the t butyl hydroquinone?

Does anyone have more information about the t butyl hydroquinone? It's towards the bottom of the list though.

Yes hydroquinone is kinda bad. It is a skin lightner/whitener. It is used in some bleaching products for that purpose. When I saw that I was a little hesitant to use it. But I haven't noticed any lightening. However, I only use it maybe once a week.

I don't use it for that reason.

Everythings a carcinogenic though.

I just don't like that so many companies are getting rid of that and some still include it. I mean come on - WHY is it in there? What does it do for hair?

They need to take it out.

I currently use it and I haven’t noticed any lightening but I also wear my hair in a bun so the true out side light can only tell.

I sent an email to the company dabur.com asking about the ingredient. So hopefully, I'll get an answer...probably by tomorrow since they are located in India.
