I have been experiencing a little more shedding then I would like recently. I had a jar of this conditioner under the sink but I haven't used it for a while. The last time I used it I did get a little moisture and slip but I really didn't remember fully how I like it. A friend of mine who has beautiful apl length hair uses this line so I figured I would pull it out to use. It promising less shedding so I gave it another try. I washed once with the shampoo and slapped it on for about 2 hours. After I rinsed I pulled out my shower comb and by the time I finished detangling, I notice half of the amount of shed hair I normally see. Rollersetting was a breeze and my hair dried much more smooth and my ends where nice a silky. I was really impressed. My newgrowth and underprocessed sections still feel smooth and moisutrized. This is one conditioner that I am really glad I revisited. I will put this in the rotation with the others I use. If you are having increased shedding, give it a try. It only costs about 3 or 4 bucks.

Man, I love this stuff. I've been hooked since I first tried it. I have 2 or 3 jars of it at home. Sometimes I mix it with the ORS Pak to give it a little extra oomph.

when i find a product that i like, it is hard to get me to try something new. i have been a pantene r/n consumer for as long as they had the line and i tried the "mask" on saturday. i can't report any noticable difference in my hair...but that is probably due to the massive amount of new gowth that i have. thanks for the tip!

I had a jar of this and used it up!! But, this was before I really knew to leave a dc on for longer than 5 minutes :look:. I do remember that I liked the smell, so I may have to revisit this real soon and use it correctly!!

I absolutely LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this stuff. This is the ONLY conditioner I've found (outside of Elucence Conditioner) that gives perfect slip and I lose very few strands when I shampoo.

Ok... yes, I am a confessed PJ and I have 9 jars of the R&N Hair Mask under my sink at this moment. (...um.. just in case it's discontinued??)

Is the mask better than the Relaxed and Natural Breakage Defense Conditioner? I really like the conditioner.

Hey Ladies. Newbe poster/longtime lurker here. I absolutely love this hair mask! I wanted to choose it as a hit for April. I am 16 weeks post relaxer, but at 8 weeks I was shedding incredibly bad. I started to use the mask and imediately my shedding stopped. I had barely any hair in my comb, compared to the gobs i had been losing. I was shocked. Usually this far post-relaxer I have shedding so bad that I want to cry..not this time. This is now a must have product for stretching.

Ditto I've always been a fan, I always leave and find my way back.

Well dang:eek: .

;) imstush and gymfreak336 -- I am really laughing right now! (I did admit I was a PJ!)

I have the Relaxed & Natural Conditioner also, but I like the mask better -- the ingredients are almost the same..

Here is my "No hair loss" shampoo/condition method

1. I shampoo my hair in the shower, apply the mask for 5 minutes and rinse. I allow the water to detangle my hair under the shower -- no combing required.

2.) I place a towel on top of my head, drape it evenly on both sides and fold the towel underneath my hair and gently squeeze the excess water.

3.) I use Pantene's Wrap/Set lotion to do a comb through (gently combing the ends first) on all sides. I follow up with Neutrogena or John Freida Serum to keep my hair smoothed.

4.) I use (1) goody cloth pony holder in the back and secure a ponytail at the nape of my neck and drape the pony to the side of my head and use one bobby pin to pin it. The bobby pin is placed about and inch from the ends. Then, I wrap my head in a scarf and let it airdry.

Since I've started doing this, I lose less than 5-10 hairs during a wash (aside from what naturally sheds and collects in the shower drain, which isn't alot)

-- This takes all of 5 minutes.

I don't use many over-the-counter products anymore (I've fallen in love with Carol's Daughter's products) BUT, out of all of the stuff out there, the Pantene R&N Mask is my absolute favorite.

(and the reason I have 9 jars under my sink!) :ohwell:

Your method sounds good. That pantene is really growing on me, I now know why my friend has such healthy hair.

I tried it and I love it!!!! You were right, gymfreak...this stuff is amazing. It made my hair incredibly soft and gave me the most amazing slip. After I rollerset my hair, my hair was just as soft and I had body like I haven't had since my relaxed days. I flatironed my roots and wrapped my hair and my hair came out shiny and bouncy!!!

Thanks for suggesting this product, you were right on target with this one.

I am glad you liked it. I am falling in love with this stuff. Pantene actually made something I like.

*MAJOR UPDATE*

Um... I actually have a total of 11 jars of the Pantene R&R Hair Mask.

(Not 9 as I originally posted!)

Okay thats it im buying it!

I actually bought it about a month ago when I was in walmart...I then convinced myself that I had entirely too many hair products and took it to customer service for a refund.:ohwell:

I love this stuff too! It really does help with the breakage and shedding. It has excellent slip and the smell is delish! Um, I don't know about the 11 jars, though(;) ). If you don't mind, Atiramisu, I might use you as an example to my BF when he gets on me for having so many products :) . I feel you, though. I'm going to WalMart tomorrow and getting at least two jars.

I never thought I say this, but the PJ in me has been shamed. :lachen:

Would it helped if I said this is the ONLY product for which I've gone overboard?

.... um, in case it's discontinued, remember? LOL.

Do I need Pantene Relaxed and Natural Rehab?

Okay, so by looking at the ingredients, this is not a protein treatment to stop breakage. I wonder what's stopping the breakage...hmmmm. I want to try this because my breakage has not stopped but since I don't know whether its a protein issue or a moisture issue...I'm not sure what avenue of treatment to try. A couple of ladies referred me to this product and I really respect them so I want to try it. Couldn't find it this weekend but I'll look again.

It really is great stuff and it's my staple deep con. Try looking in CVS.

Maybe try doing a protein treatment then deep conditioning with this. I did this the other day and my hair came out amazing. It feels very moisturized but strong. Hope you can find an answer to your problem.

Thanks! I'm going to do this on Wednesday. Nexxus Emergencee and then the Pantene. I'm so excited that I'm already nervous. lol:lachen:
