Surge Splurge

I am still using Surge on a daily basis (except for one week prior to and after relaxing). I think it works but, perhaps more importantly, I still have 3 bottles to get rid of from when I stocked up LOL.

buttafly, you really should just use Surge Plus 14 spray on the scalp.
I don't agree.

I was spraying it just on my scalp at first and I had peeling skin (I guess it was too strong for me directly) I was advised to spray it on my hair or mix it with something else and then spray on the scalp or oil scalp first and then spray.

I'm still Surging and recently went back to using the Wojee Cream(someone at the meeting gave it to me, THANKS), but the only reason I stay in twists is to use my Surge mixture, I love spiking that stuff with other things and it still gives my the same results spiked or unspiked...

NEW AND IMPROVED SURGE! WHAT, WHERE, WHEN DID THIS HAPPEN!!! Don't tease me where is it at???

Please:D
I found the new improved formula at one of my local BSS it has a red label
on the front of the bottle New Improved Formula.
The new surge does not have the Citric acid and Aloe Barbadensis gel ingredients and added Dimethicone Phthalate and Triethanolamine.
The new formula is more moisturing than the old formula.

I'm thinking about using the 14 spray as a protein treatment, has anyone else done this? I noticed it lists hydro. keratin and hydro. veggie protein as top ingredients, along with biotin, similar to other protein treatments out on the market. I'm do for a treatment this weekend, but would like other insights before I give it a shot, TIA :yep:

I use it along my hair line. I mostly use it when I'm in braids. I try to wait until I'm at lease 3 or 4 weeks post touch up to start using it. I mix mine with Castor oil too. I've seen the new formula in Walgreen's. I guess when I finsh my current bottle I'll give it a try.

I can attest that this product truly did wonders to make my hair grow. Funny, but it seemed to work REALLY well when I used it in conjunction w/WGO.

Now I've had to stop Surging b/c my grows/reverts so quickly when using it (especially after my hair has been recently relaxed). I'm trying to stretch out my relaxers but it's tough when using Surge due to the growth rate.

Having said that, it's a wonderful problem to have :), but I'm not shooting for length any more, just overall health and thickness!

I've been using it for at least a year and I really can't say I've noticed a whole lot of hair growth that I can attribute to Surge. I still use it regularly however because it it the BEST detangler I have ever used. I use it strictly as my leave in now. If it helps my hair grow fine, but I dont pay attention anymore. I've moved on the MTG and HF37 for growth results.

I still use Surge. I really like the New Formula. It doesn't foam and makes detangling much easier. (It put my MnT detangler to bed.) It's helped my edges a WHOLE LOT!!! Right now it's mixed with my MTG for my every 3rd day spritz.:)

I sprayed my hair with Surge 2x daily when I had my braids. My hair grew a lot more than usual. So I'm getting my braids back in and I'm going back to Surgin. BTW, what is MTG and HF37?

I think i'm starting to believe that Surging is leading to reversion instead of faster growth. I will start back using it maybe when i'm 5weeks post, cause it's making my hair revert. And i used it on my length a few times and i think i like it. it felt stonger and a little bit silkier.....

I think i'll try to ultramax or the woogie cream, maybe it won't revert as much as the watery surge 14.

Surge was fine until I used on the length of my hair.....then all hell broke loose. Tangles and breakage. I think as long as you use it on your scalp its fine.

I've Surging now for 2 weeks. I use it on scalp at night, but very rarely do I use it onmy ends (it does tangle a little). I like it, and I would like to try the new formula. :)

MTG and HF37?

MTG = Mane-Tail-Growth. It's a Sulfur product created for humans but used on horses that promotes hair growth among other things. It's like using Glovers Mane and/or Sulfur 8.

There are a couple of threads discussing MTG on LHCF right now.

HF37 = Hair Forumula 37. They're hair vitamins.

I have been using Surge 14 for the past 6 weeks and I have had unbelievable growth. I have not had any problems with it and will continue to use it as long as it stays on the market. HTH :)

okay I thought I was doing something wrong, I hate how it always foams up on my hair I thought I wasn't rinsing out my conditioner completely after CO washing everyday

I'm still using Surge. At first I had some scalp irritation and flaking but using MTG along with it has cleared that right up. I have only been using it once a day to avoid those side effects, but I think I'll up it to twice a day.

I stopped using surge a few months ago. I get good growth without it and I just started using Shapleys M-T-G.

I use the Surge Plus 14 (mixed with my leave-in's), Woojee cream and the Ultra Max. I'm not noticing any major growth from using these but they keep my hair and scalp moisturized.
