I usually airdry in a rollerset and learned from Sylver2 when stretching to apply NTM Silk Touch Leave-in to my new growth and immediately tie my hair down with a satin scarf.
I started a thread the other day asking ladies to share their ways to flatten or straighten their roots. All of the ladies had great suggestions.:yep:

Neither!

I'm actually a transitioner, but when I rollerset I just use a lot of rollers and try to make the roots as smooth as possible when I set it, and that gets the hair smooth enough for me.

After I get past the 12 week mark, I don't try to rollerset anymore, but when I do rollerset, I use the barrel of my curling iron to straighten the roots out. Leave the barrel closed to smooth it out. The magic potion to use with this that will get your ends straight as all get out? Paul Mitchell's Skinny Serum

I have tried using my Maxiglide to flatten my roots but it takes me too long so I just apply some of the Skinny Serum, pull the hair taunt and roll the barrel of the curling iron over it.

I do the same. I just use a smaller roller so that the roots get straightened as well. It doesnt work if i get lazy and dont roll all the way to the root but i still dont blow them out. Happy Hair Growing.

I either do nothing if I'm wearing my hair curly or up...If I want to wear it down and straight I flat iron the roots with my CHI. It looks like a fresh relaxer even after several weeks of stretching. I am trying to keep heat to a minimun though.

I don't do anything I jsut rollerset airdry. I think its all in the way you put in each roller. my curls usually come out nice. Also when I use smaller rollers the roots do get a little straighter. I am at 8 weeks stretching till 16-2o weeks w/ alot newgrowth and I plan to keep roller setting. I usually do my deep cons on fridays when I do the ORS replenishing pak and this is the only time I rollerset b/c my ahir comes out so soft after this treatment and I do not lose anyhairs while rollersetting but hey once a week for another two months airdrying I think I can do it

I rarely wear my hair down, but when I rollerset. I flat iron it to make it lay down flat. now that my hair is 100% texlaxed *sigh* I have to go all the way down the hair shaft.

I use a small roller then go under the hottest dryer they have in the salon, for that entire week I wear my hair up in a bun with curls on top and I flat iron the front for a bang, if my roots start to show how much i need a perm, I use jam.
