flatiron the hair with Dominican blow-out results?

I'm a long-term transitioner with fine, 3c hair. I usually flatiron my roots after a rollerset. It comes out pretty nice...but when the roots are blown omg my hair looks soooo fab! Is there a technique that I can do to get that light, feathery effect with my flatiron??
