I know ya'll thought i wasn't going to post them
laugh.gif
but here they are. I got them done on Friday nite at Sensational Salon in the Bronx. It took her about 2.5 hours to set it and about 1.0 hour to dry. Unfortunately, the back wasn't as dry as the rest (my whole head couldn't fit under the dryer with all the straws so they were going to dry the top first then remove the top straws, and put me back under the dryer so the bottom hair could dry) but i was ready TO GO!! It was already 1030 and i was T-I-R-E-D!

But the end result was beautiful. I am very happy with the set. Unfortunately, sleeping with this style was tiring

I am now at the point where i just put my satin bonnet on and go straight to sleep and shake my hair out in the morning. It doesn't look as good but hey, i am keeping this in until Friday, at least

Happy viewing.

BEAUTIFUL!!! And I love that outfit. You are so pretty!!! Can I see the rest of your album or is it not done yet?

thanks everybody.
tonya - the rest of the album isn't really ready... i haven't been working on it but i will soon. Maybe in the next few weeks it'll b up.

atlien - FINALLY!!! somebody sees ME in my daughter

You know what hairlove... i was thinking really hard about it too. I'd love go to au natural but i remember how thick my hair use to be and i get a little discouraged. It was so hard to handle but again, i was like 13. If i knew my natural hair would b as B-E-A-UUUUUTIFUL as yours, i would transition with such quickness
smile.gif
I'd probably get texturized first and c how much i like the wash n go aspect of it, if i can get away with it, then natural baby, here i come
grin.gif

I love it

How long do you plan on leaving it in. I remember when I had them, the longer I left them in the better they looked
smile.gif

Great strawset! How long will it last. I'm thinking I might want one too and I know the place you went to..Did you have a long wait?

Thanks Tonya... thats 2 ppl out of 1 million that have seen us together that think she favors me

Sassygirl - i am an ANGEL
wink.gif

Denali - i agree with you, the longer you keep them in the better they look, however, i have been sleeping like i don't give a hoot about my hairstyle so it's kind of messed up and cute at the same time

I'd say they last about 2 - 2.5 weeks but i'm only keeping them in for 1.

Falon - i went there on the friday before easter. They were initially supposed to be closed so only the braider, and 2 stylists were in. i was next (rite after a perm job). the only 'wait' i had was sitting there getting those straws applied. i think my next big purchase will b flexirods (strawsize). but i need a loan to pay for all those rods

Any givers?

WOW!! Can they really last that long w/o getting all frizzy??
shocked.gif
Actually, I'll bet they wouldn't even look right for a week on me, cuz with my working out and sweating in my scalp, I'd look a hot mess by day 3 or 4, for sure...
nono.gif
That's the only bad thing about exercising!!
mad.gif
I can't even think about getting any kind of straw set or spiral curl set unless I plan on skipping my workouts for at least a week!!

i was sweating like a farm animal the other morning while working out BUT the good news is, it didn't sweat out my set (thank God). Every 3rd day, i put a little proclaim serum on my palms and run that thru my hair, keeps the frizz down and adds addt'l shine
smile.gif

Try it lindy, with your long hair AND that awesome color it will look so beautiful
smile.gif

Absolutly adorable. I second the vote on reconsidering going natural...I would take your "thick" hair in a heartbeat!!!

How did your daughters hair turn out? Did you do the bantu knot twist out on her?

Hi pookey
wave.gif

i was sooo going to try the bantu knots on sat nite ( i even printed the thread out
grin.gif
) BUT she spent the nite at her godmommy's house and she cornrowed her hair as a 'surprise' for me b/c we were going out on easter sunday. it looks so cute 2. my girlfriend loves braiding her hair so i love it when she spends the nite over there

Your hair looks awesome!! It suits you.

I wish I had the courage to endure getting my hair rolled up for this style!

I really hate sitting under the dryer.

Aww, thanks CH..

Maybe I'll get it done for my BF's family reunion in June...
scratchchin.gif
I wonder how it would hold up in hot weather??
look.gif

Also CH, do you have a fresh relaxer?? By June, mine will be over 8 weeks old, and I can just imagine the stylist saying "I can't do this - you have too much new growth"...
