Strange ingredients in Vatika oil

I was reading the ingredients on my Dabur Vatika oil bottle and I was surprised to find that in addition to the Alma, Neem, and lemon oils, there was "cow milk" and--gasp--hydroquinone!

Is cow milk just regular milk? And why is it that the milk doesn't go bad and cause the oil to sour? And is hydoquinone the same substance that lightens skin? They call it an antioxidant. Is it a presrvative?

Weird. Call one of you chemists give me the scoop?

I'm thinking this is a different kind of chemical b/c of the tert...but I'm not chemistry major. Here is what I found

Looks like its in alot of things.

Since the early 1970s TBHQ has been cleared for use in the United States. It has also been cleared in Canada and various countries in the Middle East, South America, and the Far East, including those listed below.

TBHQ is highly refined tertiary-butylhydroquinone. Tenox TBHQ food-grade antioxidant was developed for use in stabilizing various oils, fats, foods, and cosmetics against oxidative deterioration, thus retarding development of rancidity in these products and extending shelf life. TBHQ is the most effective antioxidant for highly unsaturated vegetable oils and many edible animal fats. TBHQ shows no discoloration when used in the presence of iron and produces no discernible odor or flavor when added to various oils, fats, and foods. It has good solubility in food fats and oils and can be combined with other antioxidants such as Tenox BHA to produce highly effective antioxidant combinations.

Anyone notice this?
Thanks for pointing this out. I think that I will not be purchasing this stuff again after using up this bottle. Too many strange ingredients. I thought lemon was bad for black hair too, but what do I know. That'll teach me to run off to the store after every trip to LHCF. I'm lucky I still have hair on my head. :look:

I have read that lemon is good if your hair is oily, it gives golden highlights, it can be used as a treatment for dry scalp, dandruff, lice, and underactive sebaceous glands. It can also be used for clarifying the scalp.
