Stolen Hair Pictures Alert! MyHairIsBeautiful Scam

Ladies, I'm not sure if many of you remember a handful of months ago, a website surfaced with some lady trying to sell a book and some hair products using progress pictures found on these hair boards (without the permission of the women in the pictures themselves).

Well, it looks like she has resurfaced.

I just saw an ad on facebook (I attached a screen shot) with a member whose hair I recognized. She has a blog so I thought it may be an ad for her blog. I clicked the link and landed at http://www.myhairisbeautiful.com/. (NOT her blog...)

This chick is so scandalous that she is using the same exact pictures from her previous website (that she eventually had to shut down, I guess).

I don't know what the LHCFBI would do about something like this but I wanted to bring attention to the site, in case any of you ladies' progress pictures are being exploited...

That title is awfully close to SistaSlick's book. Can easily be mixed up on a google search. That's shady right there too :nono:. Knowing her book did well and has part 2, you name your e-book very similar, so if someone googles, not knowing, they end up with this :nono2:.

And if she stealing pics, I'm sure the content of the e-book (that will never download, and cust serv will be unresponsive ) is sketchy.

That ad popped up on my facebook the day before yesterday. I flagged it as offensive because the site didn't sit well with me. Especially the "good hair" comment and the obvious book title knock off.

This is a shame. When I get to stealable picture length I will start putting my initials or screen name on it. Dr. Nuevo ain't got no shame smh.

Well you should start watermarking ALL your pics... and in a place where it's not possible for these thieves and scammers to crop it out.

"Over 10,000 Copes Sold!"

They need to stop lying, learn to spell, and quit stealing. I recognize a lot of those progress pictures from this site.

I just saw that the title of her book is very close to Sista Slick's book. How nasty!! I can't believe she is being funky like that! And 10,000 copies, for real??? Imma need you to stop right there!!!

Using people pictures without permission and showing them as testimonies = FRAUD....she needs to be reported.

It's "A Online Best Seller."

Nothing on the front page sounds like a black woman wrote it. I wouldn't be surprised it if this scam were by a male or non-black person.

That's horrible, and what really kills me is that the before and after pics for one of those photos is not the same person if memory serves me right.

I recognize a few heads on there :/ Can she be reported to the BBB?

ETA: I'm trying to report this on the BBB website but I can't complete the form without the "business" address and phone number :/

ETAA: I found another form on BBB's website. Just filed a complaint.
