me neither, but I dont think I would like it unless doin a deep conditioner where I would need to sit under a dryer.

I dont think this would be good for a roller set because steam creates water, or at least I think so, and that would not give you the effect that you need for a roller set.

I am 4A/B relaxed, and I created my own steamer bc I'm in college and can't afford a hair steamer. I have seen a great improvement in the texture of my hair and shine. I purchased a heat vaporizer by Vicks. Once the heat starts, I put a rubbermaid storage box over my head and the vaporizer, then I get someone to put a full size bath towel over the storage box. I hang over the bed with my vaporier on a stand that is leveled with my bed for about 20 min and nexxus works wonders. Sometimes it get a little hot, then I remove the towel. It may seem difficult, but all of it is worth the results.

Thank you! I've been racking my brain trying to figure out how to jury-rig a home made hair steamer. I figured it was either going to be a vaporizor like yours or I was also thinking about trying to use a clothing steamer. But your idea puts me in the right direction!

I was reading in one of my essential oil books about giving your hair a steam treatment and I think this is the same concept; what do yall think?

Basically, you get a bit pot, (I'm thinking crab leg/chili/chitling

) size. Fill with water, bring to a boil.

Add herbs(I'll consult the book to see which types, basically the types that are purported to benefit hair).

Let the herbs steap for about 10 minutes and move the pot to a place where you can hold your head over it safely without getting steam burn but you can still get the benefits of the steam/herbs. (I'm thinking a stool at the end of the sofa where you can lay your head off the arm of the sofa directly over the pot)!

Cover your head with a towel and drape over pot to catch the steam and absorb the herbs!

I will be trying this soon!

Is this what a steamer does?
