spinoff: What is your 2007 hair resolutions?

I have one hair resolution for 2007:

To drastically reduce my shedding

Some things that I've already started doing to help with that:

Added Iron to my supplements
Henna every weekend

My new year resolutions for 2007:

1. No more than 5 relaxers in 2007
2. Being more aggressive in salons about "trimming" my hair
3. No heat except on relaxer days
4. Take vitamins regularly
5. Reach BSL before December 2007
6. Try dusting myself all year
7. Show my family that this healthy hair thing is NO JOKE!

No direct heat until 2008 (Heat Cap for DC)
No more weaves after I take my current one
Learn to maintain my natural hair
No new products until I run out of what I have
Retain ALL length
*****BSL stretched by Dec 2007*****

No length goals. It will grow as long, as fast as it wants and if it looks bad I'm going to cut it. :yep:

no direct heat (I may want to try a tracee ellis ross rollerset next fall)
Daily rinsing
Leaving the scissors alone!

Hopefully I can reach BSL in 2007. Here's my plan:

  • Use heat once a month MAX
  • Protect my ends more: I purchased a cute phony bun and a claw clip
  • Mom's Baggy Method: Something my mommy created wear she basically baggies her hair all week and does a big deep conditioning treatment at the end

I'll continue with all the products and techniques that are now my regulars, but I want to add in these extra three techniques to reach my goal :p .

2007 HAIR RESOLUTION
I know I am ambitious but here we go:

  • (STOP MY SCISSOR HAPPY MADNESS)
  • Maintain length & grow 6 inch hair to APL/12 inch hair
  • Limit new purchases to two per pay period.
  • Buy and use only a hard hat dryer (tell someone to hide my blow dryer).
  • Buy a new flat iron for “fancy days” probably the Sedu.
  • Protective styles (rolls & buns) 80% of the time.
  • Try & successfully roll hair on magnet rollers to straighten.
  • Take my vitamins daily.
  • Drink my Whey Protein drink daily.
  • Learn to put a relaxer on my new growth in 5 minutes.
  • Try Stretch relaxer to 12 weeks successfully.
  • Try hanging my head over side of bed to circulate blood to scalp.
  • Try a scalp massages.
  • Try co-washing.
  • Try prepooing.
  • Try putting oil in conditioner.
  • Learn to do a twist out.
  • Lean how to post pictures on this site to keep track of the growth.

Goal One: To achieve an all-natural hair care regimen!(No parabens, cones, petrolatum, and mineral oil)

Goal Two: To complete 360 days of LHCF Boot Camp

Goal Three: To reach at least APL stretched

Thats it :)

I make goals and not resolutions...so that it is something that I am working towards and not something set in stone.

Get touch up every 8 weeks, instead of 6 weeks
Take vitamins
Treat my hair with TLC
Continue to get regular trims
Wear protective styles as much as possible

My resolutions are to basically continue doing what works for me, no matter how much temptation I have to screw it all up, so that includes:

Bunning Everyday
Baggy Overnight and while at home
No heat, period, except at touch up time to check length
No combing except on wash day under shower
Moisturizing in layers (big help!)

Just Staying Consistent so I can make Bra Strap before the end of the year!

Basically what she said minus the baggy and plus the Hair, Skin, Nails vitamin daily.

1. Wear braids for 1 full year and only let hair out for holidays.
2. Drink more water- I only drink like 4 cups a day now. :look:
3. Deep Condition More- my hair is really thirsty, i'm sure DC and more water intake will help. Not really sure how to do this with braids, but I'll experiment.
4. Take progress pics of my hair. I don't have any.
