I was natural when I first came here. I don't plan on transitioning again. My hair is soooooooo coarse, I just cant imagine dealing that again.

YUP! I'm transitioning as we speak. Now if it gets to the point where I see my texture and can't deal with it then I will relax again. I'm hoping that's not the case because I've gotten so much info on this site and others on how to care for even the coarsest, natural hair.

So we'll see!

The thought has crossed my mind. I'm just afraid I wouldn't know what the heck to do with my hair once I got natural. So, I'll just keep relaxing my hair for now, until I can get the guts to go natural...

Yes. It's been 4 months since my last relaxer. Thanks to the info. here and the fotki albums I've seen I plan to continue with my transition. My hair has been relaxed since I was about 12 years old, so that's 18 years of relaxing.

I was natural for 9 years until last February 2007. I will probably stay relaxed for a few years, but I have been seriously considering texlaxing.

I thought about it. I've even tried to transition. I went about 8 months then caved!Right now Im happy with my relaxed hair, so I don't see me going natural anytime soon.

Yes, I'm transitioning now...but I only started back relaxing in Dec 2006 after being natural for a few years. Last relaxer was Oct 2007

Have been thinking about this a lot, am half way through a 10 month stretch, am loving my 3in of newgrowth.
I think am scared of shrinkage and tangles more than anything, also I will have to cut off 6in of relaxed hair which is a year worth of growth.
Am waiting till I finish my 10 month stretch (should have 6in ng) then decide whether to transition for another 12 months before big chop or relax.
My hair never relaxes fully straight, always retain some curl definintion so am about 70-80% straight.
Even if its not soon, will go natural in future.

I think about going natural but I know I want to wear my hair straight 90% of the time and I'm not sure if I want to go thru the whole process of straighting it every time I wash but I love to option of wearing to curly too. I keep going back and forth.

not anytime in the near future. i just think about when i was a kid and my hair was natural and the hell that it was for myself as well as my mom and that kind of puts me off going natural. but maybe maybe in a few years im just not ready yet.

What is texlaxed? Is it what it sounds like....between a texturizer and a relaxer?

Yep... I'm transitioning now. I'm 18 weeks post (sounds much longer than 4 months )

Yup I do...Before I leave this earth, I will experience my hair being fully natural in my adulthood.
