Some Updates with pics

I haven't straightened my hair since Oct and I just wanted to share my updates with you ladies. I had to use my friend's flat iron (Tool Science) which works well, because I think my Chi doesn't get my natural hair straight enough anymore. It kinda has this frizzy look afterwards, so I wanted to try something new. I've noticed a bit of growth and I think I can be APL in about 4 months. I think I'm going to go into another round of kinky twists. My hair in the back is uneven as some of you know from a self BC attempt in April gone wrong that I just went ahead and completed in Aug, that's why the straight ends are all gone in the Oct pic.

please dont laugh at my big old camera, it was an investment, lol. I like to take close up pictures and it's good for that.

I saran wrapped afterward and sat under the dryer for 15 min and it turned out way silkier than after my flat iron, I just dont have any photos, sorry.

Did you cut the relaxed ends off? My daughter looks to have the same hair type as you and she has some texlaxed ends that I wanna chop off. I'm thinking I'll just keep her braided/twisted up until her natural hair grows a little longer

Those pictures are perfect so we all get a really good look at your hair. Your hair looks very health and shiny. Nice job.

Awww..your hair is so pretty! I love your texture...looks very familiar. I need to do away with my ends! You've made great progress Nichi!

First, thanks ladies for all the kind words, it's people like you all that make me happy to be in this community. I truly appreciate it all.

Gorgeous! And we are HAIR TWINS! What's your reggie?
-'Preciate cha. I co-wash every three or four days, I use Ebene coconut milk and Giovanni as my usual leave ins. I generally wear twistouts or buns now and always seal my ends with castor oil. I have really fine hair, so my goal is to thicken up. I shampoo maybe once or twice a month with sulfate free biotin shampoo. I really do try to keep it simple, esp since I'm in school and never have much time. I flat iron maybe once every two tho three months if I have time, if not, oh well. I like washing my hair too much to keep it straight.

Looks like you're already APL!!!
-I wish! I don't think I'll call APL until more of my hair is past my armpit. I figure, if I trim my hair just slightly, I won't be APL so I'm not comfy calling it yet. Thanks though.

-Yeah, in my fotki, I started cutting gradually in between braids. After a lot of it grew out, I noticed (if you look in my spring 08 folder) my straight ends looking a mess. In April, I was talked into cutting it, and I did a terrible job where I cut a lot off, but I left myself with horribly uneven hair. So in the summer, in the wet pic I put for July, I just started snipping that night because those straight hairs looked like icicles. I was inspired by SouthernTease's BC. As you can tell, I was a long term transitioner, and I don't regret it really. I learned a lot and I love braids, kinkies, etc. They are a GREAT way to grow hair if you moisturize and take care of them and your edges. I think its a great idea for your daughter.

Also, thanks to those who like my texture, but it does NOT dry that curly, I think it's misleading you guys because it's wet. My ish dries into a fro.
