lol yeap soooooooooo I'm trying to have her NOT perm her hair anymore as of now I got her putting MT on her head what else do you guys recommend that I tell her so she can have a healthy head of hair? Her hair has always been short and the only time I remember it being passed her ears was when she was in HS. Sooooo any ideas of a regimen let me know I already have her using Nioxin S&C for fine, thin hair...

For now stick with the MT and you may want to invest in OCT and a good moisturizing conditioner like AO honeysuckle rose. Also some rosemary oil and Jojoba oil for scalp massages. Vitamins are a must. Biotin, B50, Horsetail, MSM, Garlic and GNC women's hair skin and nails. Lots of water.

No more shaving the edges. I see she did that a bit.

Thanks I have a mixture of oils so ill see if i can get her to put it on because I tried getting her to take phytophanere and she wasnt taking them like she was supposed to so that was a waste don't know if she would buy some OCT she's not real big on spending money on stuff like that.

Thank ya for the suggestion auburn and thanks rdm this will be the 2nd time that I remember her shaving it actually the first time it was allllllllllllll scalp.

I love you mom's cut! It's hot! When I shaved my head like this I just cw daily and applied a moisturizer and that was it. My hair grew extremely fast just from keeping it simple.

I too think she looks very nice! :) I almost don't want her to rush her hair growth. Maybe just wear a hat for the cold weather but I'd want her to enjoy the look while it lasts. I really love how she looks. :yep:

she should enjoy it for tad bit. it looks hot and so easy to care for. when i cut my hair that short, i just cowashed and moisturized and that was it. i didn't start deep conditioning until it got an inch or so.

I agree with this advice.

I agree. She is gorgeous. If my face looked like that I would probably just keep a fade. But I think the MT is a good idea.

Thanks for sharing photos, I'm ready to cut this perm and hair color out of my hair and start fresh. I don't mind hair color, but the relaxer has to go.

This is just what I was gonna sugggest :yep: Daily co washing and moisturizing.

I love the cut! Your mom looks fab!

When I had my hair cut just like that I only co-washed daily and then moisturized and go. Kept it very simple and my hair flourished...Btw,.I love the cut on her, so pretty!!

My mom shaved her head around this time too since she was doing chemo. It's coming back in so nice and soft. Told her she better not get a perm

I would start with a 'Simple' Regimen for Your Mom. I would recommend that she start taking a Good Hair Vitamin, (or a Multi) drinking lots of water and increasing her fruits and vegetables.

Then I would get a good product that she feels comfortable using. You don't want to overwhelm her with too many steps and procedures. Keep It Simple.

I would also recommend incorporating weekly DC treatments containing Protein and following up with a Moisturizing Conditioners.

I would find a nice leave in that contains Olive or Coconut or something that penetrates the hair's cortex. But I would keep it as simple as possible.

Her hair will grow back like wild fire. My friend cut her hair really short about 4 months ago and it's making awesome progress. And what is more her hair will be very healthy :yep:.

Your mom has sense my mom is "lost". I have given up on her she was perming her hair and she didn't even have an inch so now it's back in the same state it was before she shaved it so I'm done trying to get her hair the way it should be. Didn't even get a chance to see the texture and now from perming it that whole traction thing or whatever is on the sides again hella thin. Gave her my OCT she didn't use it, Megatek put it whenever she felt like it no telling when the last time she did that and wasn't taking the expensive *** phyto vitamins I gave her so I'm done. Thanks for all of the advice anyway people.

Girl, don't give up on her. It may take her a little longer to finally "get it" but once she sees your hair thriving, she'll come back around. She's probably from the generation or belief that alot of us black women have: "that it doesn't take all that" to grow some hair.

When I first started on my HHJ (back in late Jan) so many of my friends kept yelling: "Girl you are doing TOO MUCH TO YOUR HAIR" or You don't have to do all that to your Hair !

Unfortunately, we haven't been educated too much on how to 'properly' care for our hair to achieve "healthy hair"

So I am thankful for this Forum, because we know better. But their are literally Thousands of black women young & old who don't have a clue. I was looking at all these teenage girls with all these weaves and thinking about how they are tearing up their hair and when they get to be "my age" their hair is going to be HIT from: Lack of Knowledge.

Girl, You are right to leave her be. When your mom is tired of doing everything else, she will grow beautiful healthy hair with your help. You are a great daughter for caring about her so :yep:!

well idare and carib my mom clowns my hair talking about how it looks like carpet and blah blah right now im at the awkward stage so she cant be like oh yeah your hair looks good blah blah when i say something about my "curls" shes like "you call THOSE curls Lmao" but i brush it off for the most part bottomline is when you trying to perm youre scalp you have problems i was angry and disgusted at the same time and thats when i said f it. If my hair was so damaged where i could just go bald i would but shes not trying to do what i suggest. I see older moms on here posted with shoulder length and bsl hair but i doubt i could ever show my moms head off like that until she gets a reality check that what shes doing isnt working.
