So...how do I go about starting this transition over?

I'm regretting a relaxer relapse at 7 months into my transition. I was just really frustrated with my hair and I thought I'd be happier if I could just get my relaxed hair back and go back to the old days. Well, my hair is severely underprocessed. I never liked it bone straight when I kept a relaxer, now it's just a puffy texlaxed texture on about 3-4 inches of hair I'd grown during the transition.

So now not only have I ruined my transitioning efforts, I'm not even relaxed.:nono: I'm just a HAM. So now I'm not sure what to do. I'm guessing I'd need to get a corrective relaxer after a while because even if I do start transitioning again, I can't imagine it being easier with 3 textures on my head. It was horrible with 2! Any advice?

I will say, just leave your hair alone. If you do a corrector, you will have to wait 6-8 weeks to do it, and that'll be even more new growth you'd have to relax. Just stop relaxing it, and start your transition over from scratch. That's about all you can do at this point anyway, if you want to go natural.

Personally, I would just not get a corrective! I would just transition! However, make sure thats really what you want to do (transition). Its not going to be easy but it sounds like u r not sure whether u want to be relax or natural!

True, I'm still on the fence at this point. I wasn't unhappy with my relaxed hair and I'd gotten a handle on how to take care of it and it was finally BSL. I've managed to lose a lot of that length during the transition and I really couldn't manage it well. I'm also not up for the BC at this point. I was just happier with my long relaxed hair. I just thought I'd be happier with long natural hair...but the path is a rocky one.

The underprocessed portion may serve to your benefit. Your line of demarcation won't be as pronounced probably lessening the risk of breakage there. I vote skip the corrective and start transitioning. I did the exact same thing when I quit my first transition. The relaxer didn't take, but it ended up working out better that way.

I agree with cheesi. My hair was underprocessed also...but I was able to do wash-n-gos, flexi-rod sets, and phony puffs until I bc'd.

At this point I'm just going to forget the corrective and go back into transitioning mode. I guess it doesn't really make a difference and if the underprocessed hair will make it a little bit easier to transition I'd certainly be willing to give it a try.

Look at it this way, that hair is gonna have to leave anyway for you to become natural. So try not to be so attatched to it.
