Yay!!!!MizaniMami said:Okay Shunta,
Girl you DEF will need the mild relaxer. I relaxed today (dcing under the dryer now) and my hair got Super straight! Some places bone straight! But the back is straight but not too straight or too texlaxed-perfect. I pulled the relaxer down on some parts of my hair (purposely overlapped) since I am not doing the texlaxing thing anymore. *shields from LHCF*
I wanted it straight but not bone straight. Oh well. I'll deal. I got some good news that I will share in another thread though.
Anyways, it burned like Bantu! This relaxer burned the fire outta my scalp.I'm usually a dog when it comes to burning and I can withstand a lot but my little water bottle saved the day. I had to keep spritzing areas till finally I had to let go. I let it stay in for 9 minutes, rinsed out the front, got out the shower and stood another 4.
I based with a petroleum based baser AND with oil. It was burning so bad but I am glad my sis was here to help (love ya sis).
I will def. get a mild for my front (the part that got bone straight-but it's cool, I keep it short for my bangs anyways) and the reg. for my back hairs!
Oh yeah and whoever said this relaxerleaves your hair feeling like silk IS THE TRUTH! Even though some parts are bone straight my hair feels like silk. I was shining even through the relaxer. All in all I am very happy!!!

TOLD YOU SO! TOLD YOU SO! TOLD YOU, TOLD YOU, TOLD YOU SO!![]()
Glad the SE worked for you MizMa! Sorry you burned though.![]()
yourleoqueen said:Okay, best thing for a scalp burn, after you have neutralized and DC'd right before you dry, roll or wrap your hair is to put some vaseline or Aloe Vera gel on the burns and do that every night til your next wash. That will keep your hair from being stuck to the burn and also keep a big crusty scab from forming, you'll still scab but not NEARLY as bad. I do this when I have a burn and the hair never sticks and when I wash 3-4 days later the scabs come right out and I don't lose any hair. HTH
shunta said:Yay!!!!Im so happy that you decided to relax. Its so strange how I sit in class and think about you guys. Instead of listening to my instructor, Im sitting and wondering whos relaxing tonight and what important threads Im missing. Anyhoo, it looks like you are officially a SE relaxer convert. Isnt it great?! And I will definitely get the mild one next time

EishBuhgeish said:While everyone else had excellent results with Mild SE Lye Relaxer, mine came out seriously underprocessed.![]()
Its looks as if all my new growth has been texlaxed... I think its cause I've been reading so many posts about it processing quickly and since I have pretty fine hair, and I thought I'd overprocess. Is there a way to correct this?
**I hope this is the appropriate thread to ask this in.![]()
yourleoqueen said:You could wait a week or two then do a corrective, or protective style until time for your next touch-up and use Regular. HTH
MizaniMami said:Girl, I had to do a corrective in two areas (with Bantu) and they STILL wasn't straight. I just took that as a sign to keep it moving the texlaxed way.
But Mizani got me straight. If this fails I will be back to Mizani Reg, just texlaxing instead of straight.
Thanks Shunta, I relax on Wednesday night and I will let you ladies know how it goes!
