FREQUENTLY ASKED CLIENT QUESTIONS
WILL THIS LAST LONGER THAN MY STANDARD PRESS AND CURL SERVICE?
Stylist and client testimonies share that their straight styles are lasting much longer when using the ThermaSmooth System than with the traditional press and curl service. Most state that their style is without frizz and reversion for about 2 weeks or until shampooed! With the added benefits of Advance C3 Complex, the hair’s natural elasticity is not compromised which allows a healthy transition from curly to straight look without the concern of over-straightening over time.

WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN A REGULAR PRESS AND CURL AND THE THERMASMOOTH SYSTEM?
Regular press and curl services generally focus on the straightening of hair with pressing oils and tremendous heat . The oils can smother the hair strand causing the hair to be left with minimal movement and a weight bearing oily finish. The hair most often has limited if any thermal protection leaving the hair strand open to excessive heat damage and breakage.

Using the MIZANI ThermaSmooth thermal straightening system service gives the hair the best opportunity for conditioning, strengthening, and protection starting from the first step of the system. The hair is left smoother and shinier with weightless healthy body and flexible movement. The hair looks and feels better than ever!

I am anxiously awaiting for this to go on sale! I can't find much information on it other than the website. Hopefully, it will become available soon.

Wow, I just read through all of the responses, and I just wanna say that I REALLY love this board! You ladies are the best! :yep: I had no idea that some ppl were going through the same thing! I just put it out there b/c I'm so on the fence that it's ridiculous! And Hopeful was right on the money when she said that either way I'm losing something I love. I never really looked at it that way, but that's exactly the dilema. I love my relaxed and natural hair equally for different reasons. I think what contributes to me craving straight hair right now is the fact that I do ppl's hair on the side, and all of them very long relaxed hair (I'm talking bra strap of longer - one lady has hair like Kimora  ). I flat iron 2-3 heads every weekend, and I do a relaxer every 2-3 weeks. And when they leave with those silky straight, swinging heads, I remember ***sniff*** when my hair used to do that. In fact, the reason I started doing hair at home was b/c ppl wanted me to make their hair as straight as mine.

Anyway, I've thought a lot about texturizing, to try to get the best of both worlds. But my hair relaxes VERY easily (I used to use a kiddie perm and leave it in for a max of 10 mins and my hair would be BONE straight), and I think that it would probably get to straight too quick. It hadn't occured to me to get a weave though, that might be a good idea...:scratchch But the only problem is, I haven't seen ANY good sew ins down here in Miami. In fact, all of the weaves I see when I'm out are downright ghetto! :( I got a nice curly one when I was transitioning, but it was done with a cap, and the lady that does it really specializes in curly styles. Is there any particular method of doing a straight sew in that makes it look flat and natural? I'm not big on weaves, and would only want to rock one if I could get it to look as realistic as possible. :ohwell:

I have to be another voice of decent here, I love your curls too, there gorgeous, beautiful, pretty, did I say gorgeous already  and like some posters said before transitioning is no fun at all. also I think straight hair all the time is over-rated. Also I remeber my hair never relaxed straight it always kept some curl (2b/c)and would still frizz up in very humid wheather just like it was natural when it was relaxed I've got some thick, natural curls, so I still had to abuse heat to get my hair super-straight. If I'm going to have to do the straighting work anyways why should I pay for a relaxer? Relaxers or harsh chems in general just don't go with me, even regular haircolour can burn my scalp, my hair started falling out 3 months after my very 1st relaxer then it just went downhill form there. So really try the sew- in weave, or a wig before you comit to bone-straight all the time.
If you love both looks maybe texlaxed is a better choice, that way you could switch from bone straight to curly easier. But if your hair will frizz up anyways why burn a hole in your wallet. :look:
Some ladies here including me have diff. sew- in techniques in thier albums/journals.

Product suggestions:
There's also Sedal anti-sponge which works good for keeping a press from reverting, too fast in humid wheather but this new Mizani stuff sounds like it's too good to be true-I'm waiting for the tesitmonies of people who have tried it already.
Jon Freida has a moisterizing conditioner that keeps frizz down if you use it as a leave in. and the defining serum in the small bottle
Have you tried Miss. Jessie's curly pudding, and baby buttercreme-that stuff really works well.
Or Paul Mitchell leave-in conditioner and Nexxus exxtra gel.
Kinky-curly custard, she makes a leave- in too. Henna also helps hair become more manageble and only very slightly stretches curl
there are tons of products out there to weigh down your curl. and help with the straight styles. HTH

I just want to add that it might be helpful for you to go back and read your old posts when you were about to transition and as you transitioned. You might find an answer in your own words.

Wow! That is Deep! But it is The Truth!

Oooh, I know I need to keep my behind out of this thread. I've been feeling the same way. I love my hair, I love being natural - it's great during the summer, but sometimes I miss the little things like being able to rollerset, and not being worried about some driplet of moisture making me look like chewbaca revisited.

And all the posts about PhytoSpecific and ORS Olive Oil relaxer have really got me thinking.

I think I"m going to stick it out a bit longer - I'd like to try and get my hair to grow another 5 or 6 inches. Who knows? But I totally understand where you are coming from.

And MaCherie's healthy head isn't helping my cause. :)

I know I'm all off topic, but that young lady Thania Peck - that's what I'm talking about. LONG natural hair. Curls all over the place.

1 more year...I can do it! HAHA

I'm sure your hair would be just as beautiful relaxed as it is natural...and it IS gorgeous now!! :yep:

Im glad you came to some type of conclusion :yep: Darn move to the north in the fall and winter so you can get a press and not worry about the humidity. Nothing like some cold dry air you cant breath in

I've never been relaxed, but that's just because I don't wanna, however IMHO hair is just hair, simply dead protein. You have relaxed it before, you already know what its like to be relaxed, and aslong as your hair is still healthy, breakage free and all that I say do whatever you want. And don't pay mind to what people say, it is as you've said, a styling option. Besides if you get bored of that in a few years you vould just grow it out right?

i needed that right now!
