I Am So Blessed
I'm easy going.
I don't want to see these pretty rollersets without seeing how you styled it!!!
This post may be a bit premature since I haven't decided if this is going to work for me.
Is it way too late to slide in here?
Eight years natural...a bc and another bc 4 years later...I have satin roller, magnetic roller, flexi rods and perm rods. I've had them all for years and never used them. I want to keep my hair stretched without the routine of twisting so often. When my twists frizz up I can't really keep them in without looking a mess. If my rod set frizzes I can just wear a bun or something for a week.
This weekend I'll be doing my first roller set since my relaxer days.
I hope I can pull it off.
If I pull it off I'll do it as often as I can.
I'm trying to get this last couple of inches to waist length before fall, and although what I've been doing has been working for me, I'm looking for a less time-consuming way this time.
I'm dropping out of this challenge for 2018 until I heal my scalp. I think sitting under the dryer while setting is drying out my scalp And that is causing my crown to thin.
Of course I will be dropping in to check out all of the beautiful hair.
Hola.Does anybody have any links to info about roller placement and stuff like that? I found this article but I want more

I miss rollersets so much. That was my favorite thing about relaxed hair back in the day.
I have this one and I love it...Does anyone use a table top hard bonnet hair dryer that you can recommend? One with a strong air flow and one that can get very warm but not too hot?
I don't want a standing dryer: I travel enough to want a table top dryer first.
I'm looking at old ones on Ebay because one thread said a Lady Dazy or something was great. Anyone know which one?
Any very warm, strong air flow table top would work.
Thanks so very much for any help. I hope to purchase ASAP.
I need suggestions on how to preserve this tonight. I have a feeling it will look like crap tomorrow.
I'm popping in out of lurk mode to share a perm rod set I did. I used aloe vera juice and lotta body foaming mousse. I sat under my soft bonnet dryer for an hour and 15 minutes. I loved the way that my hair looked but I didn't like how dry it felt. I'm going to be experimenting with products to try and achieve a moisturized rollerset. Any product suggestions for moisture retention?View attachment 429455
Thank you! And your hair is gorgeous btwThe set is so pretty!
For a more moisturized set, you can put a few squirts of a moisturizer/leave in in a spray bottle diluted with water and spray each section before applying the perm rod. Follow it up with a moisturizing styler.
Some moisturizer suggestions:
Camille Rose moisture milk
Curls Creme Brule
Curls Blueberry Leave in
Oyin Hair Dew
Moisturizing styler:
Camille Rose Aloe Whipped Butter Gel
My best and most moisturized flexi rods set have came from this combo:
Camille Rose Moisture milk and aloe whipped butter gel. However, it takes a long time to dry....But the moisture and hold was bananas.
For truth it only looked good the first day. I proceeded to wear it up Monday and Tuesday the I washed it that Wednesday and wore wash n go for the rest of week. I will continue to try sets at least once a month. Hopefully I figure it out at some point. How long did it last? I was gonna suggest flipping your head upside down and putting on a bonnet. But I see this is an old post. LOL
Thank you! And your hair is gorgeous btw
