I installed the curlformers. I'm sitting under the dryer now. I will give it another 20 minutes. I made the sections bigger than usual so that increases my drying time. I will let m hair cool for 15 minutes before I take the curlformers out. I hope my hair is dry.

I just threw them in any kind of way so I won't be wearing any curls. But I have not clue what I'm going to do with it :ohwell:

Took the curlformers out and it was dry , but it was nothing to write home about or take pictures of. My ends don't like heat of any kind even the dryer. I put serum on them but they still were crispy. I will try a pomade or grease next time.

I put TGIN Daily Moisturizer on the ends and put my hair up into 25 bantu knots. I can finally put in bantu knots without having to use bobby pins to hold them :yay: I don't usually have much success with bantu knots but we shall see how this goes. More than likely my hair will be back in flat twist by tomorrow afternoon.

I will do another set at the end of February. I will start earlier in the day so I can take my time and take pictures.

I think it's cute! I would have put a headband on and kept it moving. The curlformers pic was cute too! I would have made a fauxhawk with that style.

Thank You. I need you to come over and do my hair

I knew I wasn't going anywhere today so I just played in it. It's up in a puff cuff right now and will be headed into flat twists soon enough.

I want to try the bantu knots on wet hair. If it works out it will be a game changer.

Lol, I'm in the Hampton Roads area if you need wine and a laugh. I haven't been a kitchen beautician in many a moon, so I'm not going to claim I can do anything fabulous, just workable :)

Girl you are right down the street. I used to be down that way a lot when I was steppin. I have to remember that when I'm ready to get my hair evened out when I reach my goal. I could use someone to hold my hand when I go.

I decided to try bantu knots on wet hair.
I used the Mane Choice 3 in 1 conditioner. I spritzed my hair with diluted TGIN. I really like using my leave-in in this diluted state. I think I am going to stick with this. I then put in 16 bantu knots. I was surprised I could get by with so few. I thought I would need 20 or more on wet hair.

Not sure how it will turn out. It might just be frizz. And I don't have any idea how long it will take to dry.

@Colocha
Beautiful curls! Is this a perm rod set or roller set? What products did you use?
Thank you!! It's a black and blue perm rod set. I used more rollers than usual this time though. Maybe 35 vs 30.

I layer Oyin Hair Dew mixed with Sabino Moisture Block, jojoba oil, and CRN Almond Jai. Probably don't need all these products but I'm used to the LOC method. I dont typically need to moisturize during the week after this though.

Okay some pics: rods in, just took them out and fluffed.

Products: washed with design essentials shampoo, DC with heat using shea moisture high porosity mask, added design essentials curl cream, and elasta qp wrap foam. I only detangled with a Denman to be lazy, skipped the fine tooth comb. i felt it was still quite smooth.

Changes to make: something about that curl cream made my hair difficult to detangle while setting; I also feel like it doesn't matter if I do a lazier braid n curl or flexirods at this length, they look the same since i fluff out the roots so much. i would fluff them out less, but then the shape of my hair looks stupid to me because it's short. the objective is soft detangled hair that i don't have to touch for at least 3 days.

ETA: That was just a lot of rigmarole to get the pics to upload, pretty annoying. rod set.png flexirods.JPG unfluffed.JPG

I love this!!! I may go buy some more flexi rods. I saw them at the dollar tree. Cute ones too.
