I bought the Target brand and Sally's one. The target one after a while starts to ball up. Sally's feels richer and thicker and does not ball up. 80% of my pillow cases are Satin, 10% are silk and 10 % are cotton for FH. I have entire Satin Sheet sets.

I found them! I bought them at Meijers, then went back to Bed, Bath and Beyond and found them there also. $3.99 you can't beat that!!!!!!

Satin is actually a weave. The weaving technique is what creates the sheen. You can create satin fabric by using polyester, silk, nylon etc. So the ones you saw are real satin.

I don't know about the silk/modal blend.

But the ones I use now are from JcPenney's. They came included in a whole sheet set for around 25 dollars. They were 50% off that weekend (some linen sale or something) and matched perfectly with my comforter and throw pillows and stuff.
