Rihanna w/o her weave and it still looks fake

Whether real or not, Rihanna's hair looks nice. Not sure how that constitutes having "no hair" either. Lastly, she is not a reggae singer. She sings pop/r&b with a reggae influence...and she's from Barbados.

These pics of Beyonce are a few years old.... I think Rihanna's hair looks fine. And when she came out initially with the first album she only had reggae songs. They marketed her as a reggae/dancehall artist. With this second album she's been singing pop. She's from Barbados.

Gurl they did not suceed that was no more Reggae than Eric Clapton singing I shot the Sheriff:lachen: She also sounds just like me no accent when she speaks. Now if that's a weave...Then it's a no track thin weave that can't be lifted of pulled by a giant baby...Cuz I saw scalp like a ****:lachen: But hey anything is possible?

What's trippin me out about this thread is
  1. People assume it's automatically a weave
  2. If it was longer someone would complain as to why she walking aroung looking like Seabiscuit?
  3. Everyone don't have long beautiful locs or are actually trying to acheive them :sekret:
Some folx like their hair that length. My daughter has the exact same haircut and has worn it for years. I always use to fuss at her especially after joining this board...Why you cut your hair again...Then she kindly told me I like my hair...Guess she told me:ohwell:

Would it help if she was less likeable:lachen: I'm sorry she's from what i can tell a sweet girl and she ain't bothering nobody...Sure SOS made my ears bleed a lil...but I'm not gonna hold that against her.

She's a cutey and I like her style about 99% of the time...What's the harm here?

I like the hairstyle, who cares whether it is a weave, I'd rather see a more realistic looking weave than one the resembles a Barbie:look:

I do agree that celebs should not pretend like their weaves are real when discussing hair products, very misleading:ohwell:

:lachen: :lachen: :lachen: Maybe that's why she switched it up with the 2nd album. That reggae thing must have been a terrible gimmick. :look: I liked SOS though. Bet Christina Milian wishes she hadn't have passed on it now. They played that to death.

Personally, i am not a huge fan of long hair. The hair looks very healthy and trendy. The cut looks very good on her. Not everyone is cut out for extreme lengths in hair. I think super-long hair drowns her out. The only problem i have with it is the thinness. Bobs are meant to be full... thats what makes them stand out.

BTW--> Being mixed or from Barbados does NOT give you good hair! Trust me... i know. I am West Indian and Black and I have hair in the 4A range. Please don't post them photos of Beyonce anymore. Clearly, it disputes the theory that she is not a "black girl"...ugh. Shaquaqua needs to keep the hot comb out of Beyonce's scalp.
I think what people mean by Rihanna being from the caribbean and having long hair is that... most of them are natural???? I think natural hair thrives, why relaxed hair has trouble growing healthy... so maybe that is what she means???? I dunno. W/E.

Hmmm, I can see this thread is getting a tad heated...

I have no opinion either way on the said pictures. *shrug*

But OP, on another note: Next time post this type of thread (celebrity pics, etc.) in the Entertainment board. The vibe is totally different over there. In this hair board section, we tend to all be nicer, less critical of ppl, supportive etc..... If you had posted this on the Entertainment section, you would probably have gotten more of the response you were looking for, because the energy is just different over there. Not saying one is better or worst.... cuz its all the same ppl from the board. But I know that when I enter the Entertainment board, and many others, my claws do come out (lol) and its easier to be more "critical," so to speak.

But in this hair care section, folks are going to be more protective/defensive of a picture of a girl with seemingly regular, shoulder length hair that looks healthy. Because honestly, Rhianna's hair doesnt look any different than many of our hair on the board. Therefore, folks are most likely not gonna join in and bash her here..... whereas on the Entertainment board, celebrity-bashing is fair game, and you would have gotten a better chance of that response.

I mean, folks are jumping all over the OP, but this thread is no different than many of the others posted over in the Entertainment board. *shrug* She just posted it in the wrong place, so it was received all wrong.

JMO.

I think her hair looks nice, it fits her face well. Dang, why every black entertainer have to have hair down to their butt?
I know women who would kill for that "no hair" look. :lachen:

I think this is Beyonce without her long hair/weave. I still like it though, just as I like Rihanna's hair. When my hair was permed, it used to be that length.

 @ the way ole' boy is looking at her

This is off topic, but I have to ask: I love the way Rihanna's wearing her hair in the pic and I've had plans to get my hair cut in a similar style (mine will prolly be shorter since I'm about 1/2 inch (or maybe an inch, not sure) away from shoulder length.

Any tips on how I can get this style? Do you think it's cut with a razor or with a pair of scissors? Can I do this at home or is it best to go into a salon? Is this just a variation of the typical bob?

Thanks!

Beyonce's bunning!!! Hm.. rocking a protective style - maybe she knows about LHCF and is a lurker...

You can get a razor cut, which I think she did...But razor cuts kinda thin out the hair. My daughter gets what's called a choppy cut at a white salon :look: And she simply flat irons it.

Nawl Sorty..i think word would get back to da hair policia
over here and they'd come a running:lachen: No seriously i think the comments would be the same. Cuz people showl was amazed that Tyra actually has hair under that lacefront:look:

I didnt intend to post but I did want to comment on the hair magazines and printing out information on what stars use on their hair.

I used to read those hair magazines all the time for years when I first started on my hair journey. I would buy several at a time. Well what I noticed over the years is this:

They dont always interview the artist for every article they print on them. Sometimes they take random quotes and just put a bio on the artist and slap a picture up in the magaziine.

Or they will recycle the same information from previous issues in newer ones and just put a new picture spread.

I thought it was just my imagination until I looked at back issues and realized they listed the same products or routine maybe changing a word or two. And also if they use that particular product on their NATURAL hair to make it healthy to combat the potential damage of constant heat and weaves, etc then its not exactly as if they are lying about what they use. If the hair magazines use a weave picture (which would make sense since this is what the star may be accustomed to wearing on photo shoots) and suggest that this routine is what will achieve this particular look then it is in fact the magazine that is being misleading and not the artist themselves.

Now if asked directly if they do or do not wear weaves and they say yes and you can clearly see the track or the lace front THEN you can say oh she is lying. But magazines across the board not just hair magazines have control over what content is placed in their publications and have been known to put whatever pictures they want in their publications. Just something to keep in mind because its been done in hair magazines for years. God bless you all.

It's funny how Beyonce came into this discussion:lol:

When did Ri-Ri become so popular that she gets an 11 page discussion on her hair? Weave or not her hair looks good and if she wasn't famous I would think it was all hers. But given her history I have to question if it's hers or not.

I like her hair cut. I think it's cute and fits her face. The color is beautiful. That is the length and cut of my hair before the dreaded  sew in incident. Personally I think she looks good!

This is not Beyonce's hair either, it's a weave still. It just looks busted. I think I included this pic in the links I posted way back.

It's cute, but yall that is not her real hair. And NO it doesn't matter to me one bit, but I am not one to ride no one's jock over hair that's not theirs.
Ima co-sign on this one as well and leave before someone tries to shank me. :lachen: :lachen: You're so funny!

I think it looks cute on her. Not everyone wants long hair ya know. I know several women who purposely keep their hair cut short. To each her own. :ohwell:

Her hair looks nice. So what if its not long! Why is it diasppointing? Many people wear weaves just so they don't have to maintain long hair and regardless of the cae its doesn't matter.

I think Rhianna's hair looks gorgeous as is her over overall appearance. Hair is supposed to be something that enhances your look and her hair does just that. How many times have you seen someone with really long hair, but it just wasn't styled well??

Hi everyone....its me the OP. As I posted somewhere on page 7 or 8. I never said her hair cut was awful and I too am trying to achieve long beautiful so I'm no bashing her cause her hair is short. I read a comment earlier and she said "its not the celebrities fault but the magazines who edit articles saying certain products can get you this celebrity look when that celebrity has a weave" again i do apologize. i assumed that some celebrities (with all that money) real hair should look better than you and I They have money for a personal hair stylist but hey its not their choice in the matter. But thanks for the comments everyone..didn't mean for ppl to get upset
