Well, well, well. After dreaming about finding it last week (some of you know this from my post a few days ago ), and spending months trying to find it to no avail. I got aggressive and found it one day last week after much telephone calls around Manhattan. (I'm bad I know).
So today I did a rollarset. Washed with Lanza, rinsed then slathered Tropical all over concentrating on ends and left it on cold for a good hour with a shower cap on. It felt lovely going on but on rinsing it, I didn't get that noticeable slippery, detangling feeling I look for as sign that I'll have smooth hair when dry. I shrugged somewhat disappointed already and proceeded to do my usual comb through with the wide tooth comb. Still no detangling feeling
I started with the rollars and my regular tooth comb and the fine rats tail comb both had to snag a bit through each hair section which I didn't like at all. On smoothing the rollar up the hair section, I noticed the ends felt rough. After the 3rd rollar I bailed out and jumped back into the shower with Loreal Unfrizz Smoothing Treatment (my current fave conditioner). I re wet my hair and put it in for 5 mins. I got the immediate slippery, buttery soft, detangling feeling on the hair and the combs just slipped through with no problem.
So in theory I didn't give the Avocado a fair chance and do a rollarset and dry the hair but I've used conditioners before that did this and when the hair was dried, it came out rougher so I didn't want to wait and see it happen again
, I cannot believe Tropical A. didn't agree with me!!!! So many raves outweighing the odd person who didn't like it that I had to try it and it failed.
Loreal remains the undisputed champion on me. I was really suprised that after leaving it on for just 5 mins was enough to transform what the Tropical did into truly soft, satiny smooth wet hair
I'm glad I tried Tropical A. because now I know I fall into the catergory of one of those that it doesn't work for..... I think my hair's trying to tell me to stop being such a sheep and keep my dumb a** using what I know works best already
