Tropical avocado- I finally got it

Hi girls
I got my Tropical avocado conditioner, I actually got it yetserday, but didn't realize it till this morning because UPS had put it in my backyard. Wow, that was really quick cause the guy shipped it out on Wednesday. So let me know if I got the right one, It says:

Tropical Bano de crema para el cabello aguacate
avocado intensive conditioner cream
made by cosmeticos Tropical, Dominican Republic
distributed in USA by Mimor

....and there's photos of avocados on it, The ingredients aren't listed, or maybe it is, cause everything on the jar is in spanish.
 
My jar has ingredients but in English only---not in Spanish anywhere onthe jar. Mine is also just Avocado Hair Conditioning Hair Cream----yours says intensive --so maybe you have the new and improved version?

Do you have any way of posting a picture of this becasue I'm really confused now....
 
New here - hi - love this board.

Just curious, did you order from DuaneReade? If not, where did you get it? I'm from NY but live in DC. I ran out and would like to get more but won't be going up there soon.

The ONLY thing you have to worry about (I think)
is making sure the container says MADE IN THE DOMINICAN
REPUBLIC). As far as I'm concerned, it should be a quality
product if it's Dominican-made.

Just NEVER buy the Venezuela or USA-made versions. I think
they just "stole" the Tropical name because of the popularity
of the Dominican product and are trying to pass off their inferior
versions as the real deal. I'm sure it was easy for these other
companies to market a product under the Tropical name because
the Dominican product is probably only protected by trademark law
in the Dom. Rep. (not Venezuela or the US).

The jar you describe is not the one I'm used to, but it might very
well be the "new" packaging.

Please post a picture when you get a chance.

Welome to the board Luli,
We are neighbors, I live in Maryland. Anyway I ordered it from Uptown Beauty Supply in New York, it costs $4.59 plus shipping. I spoke to guy that has a very deep accent, it doesn't sound spanish, maybe middle-eastern or something. But he was really helpful and courteous and he told me if I ever needed any more products to just give him a call.

Im thinking I probably do have the new and improved version, or maybe its just a new packaging. But it definately does state that is in made in DR, no USA/venezuala is listed anywhere on the bottle. So I must have the right one. The jar is in a completely different packaging than what is on blkmane's page. My jar has photos of avocados on it. I cant find a a pic anywhere on the net to post.

So, when are you going to get the new and improved Tropical Avocado? Please let us know how it works out for your hair (compared to the 'regular' one).

Ladies, I just ordered Tropical Avocado &amp; another product from Uptown Beauty Supply. On finding out I wasn't calling from NY, he asked how I found out about him, because's HE'S BEEN GETTING A LOT OF CALLS FOR THIS PRODUCT! I told him I got the number from this haircare forum! We are making an impact!!

The guy I spoke with was George. I told him about the website but he didn't specifically ask about specifics. He just seemed happy to get so much business from one spot, I suppose.

I just wanted to add that Uptown Beauty Supply (phone # 212-987-2480) has a sale on the Tropical Avocado right now- it is $3.99, and the regular price there is $4.99, so it is a great time to go (or order for shipment via UPS.) George is really nice, and does not charge extra to ship (other than the fees that UPS charges, and that depends on where you live.) I have actually been to this salon before when I was booked in New York, and I often order products that I can't get here in California, and have them shipped to me!

btw a question--is tropical avocado considered sort of like a chloestrol conditioner?
