Results From My Hair Analysis

So, over the weekend I got the results from my hair care analysis. I figured I'd have so breakage but I wasn't expecting the rest of it. Along with breakage, I also have cuticle damage, diminishing root sheath, and follicular dystrophy!!!

Now I pretty much know what to do about breakage. I read that I can use intact keratin proteins (Hair Rescue) to deal with the cuticle damage. But what can I do about the diminishing root sheath? And what in the heck is follicular dystroply?!? I tried researching it but all I came up with is a hereditary disease of dogs (Umm mom?!?...j/k)

For some reason, I wasn't given hair type, porosity, etc...waiting for a response from them.

Any suggestions on any of these problem areas would be SOOO greatly appreciated!!!

(BTW...at the time of the analysis, I was 5 months post relaxer.)

Nope, no phone call or written information...only pictures. I sent them an email. At this point, I'm waiting to hear back from them. Thank you so much for these links...heading over now!

OK. Your written report follows a few days after the pictures. They should finish the process this week. No worries. They will give you a complete breakdown of what they want you to do. Be patient.

I know they will suggest vitamins, diet, and water. Do you cowash? Do you cleanse your scalp and hair with clarifying shampoos? Can't wait to hear more!

I mostly keep my hair braided up for a month at a time (sew-ins). I shampoo with Alphogee Moisturizing shampoo, condition with a Keratin conditioner (can't think of the name right now), and DC with some masque. I'll have the names when I get home. I just started using a garlic conditioner. I use BJCO faithfully!!! And I've also recently started using a mixture of MegaTek/BJCO/Coconut oil/peppermint oil on my temples where it's thinning.

Arent there 2 versions if the hair analysis? One is more indepth, while the other is pretty basic? Which did you purchase?

Looking forward to hearing about your hair analysis. I want to get it done also, but not sure when-I'm transitioning and pregnant so not sure if it will effect the validity of my results. Maybe I'll send it in a few months after giving birth. Anyway, good luck and happy hair growing!

Your hormones and hair will be all over the place and you might experience postpartum shedding. I was off balance for almost a year. It would be better for you to do it now.

Finally got my report as well a telephone consult. I have cuticle damage.

1. So I was told to cut 3" now and 1/2" every 10 weeks for 18 months. I will be cutting about 8" today to just get it over with.
2. I was advised to do a protein treatment every two weeks. Not sure how long I'm supposed to do this. Purchased Hair Rescue because the type of proteins it contains. Will be doing this after the BC tonight.
3. Told to use their brand of coconut leave-in conditioner. Instead I purchased a Monio Oil Leave-In conditioner. Want to see how that work first.
4. Do not use products containing mineral oil or petroleum. Haven't for a couple of years now.
5. Use Bountiful Mane Serum. About to purchase this after this write-up.
6. Do not co-wash as co-washing interferes with hair growth.
7. Stop taking biotin. Take Maxi Hair by Country Life Vit D3 2000 iu and L-Cysteine 1500mg.
8. Drink 8 cups of water daily. Drinking 6 cups now...my body tells me that's enough.
9. Additional food intake, exercise, etc.

Oh, do not use boar's hair brushes.

I was 5 months post-relaxer. Since the analysis, I did give myself a relaxer. Just too much dealing with two different textures. I was told just because I have a relaxer doesn't mean I can't have healthy hair.

So today I begin my journey. Getting married June 2016. Right now I have about 12, 8, and 4 inches of hair. (Yes, it's all over the place and a chop is definitely needed.) But hopefully I will have 8-10" of hair by then.

Had my phone consult today and was told the exact same thing. Verbatim.

My analysis results were different.

I didn't feel they push their products on me and actually encouraged me to look at the products I already have before buying theirs. When I even mentioned getting one of their products, she told me not to do that just yet before I checked what I have first. She even suggested I give coconut oil a try for mild scalp issues and said she thought that should do it, but if that didn't work, I could try one of their products.

verbatim?? interesting...
im bothered by the fact that they both analyze hair and sell products of their own brand as remedies :look:
what company is this?
Don't feel that way. If you came to me to get a facial, I would sell/recommended the brand that I used on you, for you to maintain the skincare regimen I customized for you at the spa. I think that's a good thing. It's a line they designed that they are familiar with that can help with our hair needs.

What products are you using now?
Clarifying shampoo/ moisturizing shampoo/ balancing conditioner/ hard protein: Elucence
DC: Joico treatment balm & Silk dream vanilla silk
light protein: b.a.s.k vanilla whisky
leave in: Giovanni direct leave in/ (recently) it's a 10 leave in
What are you using?

My results were sort of similar I also sent a sample in at 5 months post. She didn't push any products on me at all and in fact suggest some different brands. They can only go by what they know and considering their brand is komaza, they are going to tell you about their products that addresses your needs. Also keep in mind, just because hair looks nice in pics, doesn't mean its at optimum health a lot of people on these hair boards can testify to that.
